Die größte und schönste Insel im Gardasee ist die von nur wenigen Menschen der Familie Cavazza bewohnte Isola del Garda. Im Laufe der Jahre änderte sich mit den Eigentümern der Insel auch mehrfach ihr Name: Insula Cranie (Insel der Kraniche), Insel der Mönche, Insel Lechi, Insel Scotti, Insel de’ Ferrari und später Insel Borghese und heute Isola del Garda. Die Isola del Garda liegt vor der Küste von San Felice del Benaco am Westufer des Gardasees. Nicht weit ist es zur Bucht von Salò, der größten Stadt am Westufer des Gardasees. Die Insel besteht aus einer herrschaftlichen Villa und die sie umgebenden Gärten und der Park. Seit einigen Jahren sind Garten und Villa nun im Zuge von Führungen zu besichtigen.
The largest island in the lake is inhabited by just a few people the Cavazza family Isola del Garda. Over the years, changed with the owners of the island several times her name: Insula Cranie (island of cranes), the island of the monks, island Lechi, island Scotti, Isle de ‘Ferrari and later Borghese island and today Isola del Garda. The Isola del Garda is located off the coast of San Felice on the western shore of Lake Garda. It is not far to the bay of Salo, the largest city on the western shore of Lake Garda. The island consists of a stately villa and the surrounding gardens and park. For several years, the garden and Villa can now be visited as part of guided tours.
I had the day to myself so I thought I would travel to Ramona to check it out and spend some time shooting different angles. I liked this one the best because the rays were hitting the center of the rocks coming out and really stood out to me. Thank you for looking. Jeff

PEACE and QUIET…
Soaking up the silence of the evening. The moon a slither, and only the music of the yachting paraphernalia, a rhythmic clanking of metal.
Hellevoetsluis features a six magnificent ports with a total of about 2,000 moorings.
The ports provide a wonderful base for boaters who love the wide waters of the Haringvliet and the sea.
From Hellevoetsluis it is possible to both inland waterways and the sea, also to sail in the Zeeland and South Holland Delta.
Hellevoetsluis is located on the Haringvliet with the sea, beach and dunes close by, on the extreme southern edge of the Rijnmond and Europoort areas, close to the broad Zeeland landscape.
The name translates as “lock at the foot of the Helle”.
The Helle was a small local river which disappeared over time.
Duino Castle (Italian: Castello di Duino, German: Schloss Duino, Slovene: Grad Devin) is a fourteenth-century fortification located in Duino (municipality of Duino-Aurisina), near Trieste, Italy, on the cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Trieste.
The Oslo Architecture Triennale has announced the program and participants for this year’s sixth edition of the event, titled After Belonging, which will open in September of this year. Participants will contribute to two exhibitions, occurring alongside a conference, and collateral events, taking place September 8-November 27, 2016.
As described by the Oslo Architecture Triennale website: “The 2016 Oslo Architecture Triennale designs the objects, spaces, and territories for a transforming condition of belonging. Global circulation of people, information, and goods has destabilized what we understand by residence, questioning spatial permanence, property, and identity—a crisis of belonging. Circulation brings greater accessibility to ever-new commodities and further geographies. But, simultaneously, circulation also promotes growing inequalities for large groups, kept in precarious states of transit. After Belonging examines both our attachment to places and collectivities—Where do we belong?—as well as our relation to the objects we own, share, and exchange—How do we manage our belongings?”
“…speculates on architectural intervention strategies at a selection of sites—in Oslo, the Nordic region and around the globe—that are understood to encapsulate the contemporary transformation of belonging.”
“…dissects the architectures entangled in the contemporary reconfiguration of belonging, documenting the ways in which these architectures redefine residence, and the spatial, aesthetic, technical, and sociopolitical implications of this redefinition.”

The embassy is conceived and designed by Studio Jonas Staal, and takes the form of a temporary installation in Oslo. Through assemblies and public debate it will present the cultural and political ideals of this new autonomous region. The aim of the project is to rethink non-state models of political representation through art, as well as to engage a large public in the unique cultural and political ideals being developed in this war-torn region.”

By now, everyone knows that sitting all day is damaging your body

Wild skies made for weird lighting at sunset this spring at Arches. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I only saw a single flash of lightning after days of shooting at the park, and that happened in the middle of the night. This particular storm looked like it was going to really kick up some dust, but it fizzled shortly after I took this pano.
