This was one of the most weird and moody skies I came across this year. I knew the exact location of the setting sun but I did not expect the sky to be full of dust resulting in an almost surreal sunset. I was walking up and down the beach trying to find an interesting rock formation when my wife called me after seeing this two piles of seaweed lying there with a clean pass to the sea. I had to remove the rubber feet of the tripod so as to let the spikes “bite” into the seaweed bed and get a steady platform for the camera. A single raw file with the Nikon D800 and Nikon 14-24mm @14mm + Nisi filters (10 stop + 3 stop soft grad) + wireless remote. Exposure was 30,0 sec; f/8; ISO 200. ————A straightforward post process in Camera raw . The only Photoshop “touch” was to use a curves adjustment tool and push the highlights up with the mid tones masked taken from a luminosity mask in order to enhance the highlights without affecting mid-tones.
