7 Powerful Quotes From World Leaders That Will Change The Way You Think

We all have one or two thought leaders who we greatly admire and look up to. I have a few myself and they inspire me to be more, do more and think more. Though we are all quite capable to think for ourselves, it’s sometimes good to have a louder voice in your face saying “you can do it”. it reassures us of our power that we forgot we had and it gives us a much needed kick in the arse.

There are leaders in spirituality, business, entrepreneurship, religion, personal development and a few other categories. Some are still alive and some are dead, their words of wisdom living on. Here is a small compilation of some of my favourite quotes that have gotten me through some questionable periods in my life and give me that much needed kick in the arse. In no particular order,
.

Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. ~Napoleon Hill.

If you can think it, you can do it. The thought has already manifested in your mind. You have seen it, felt it and dreamed of it. If it’s in there, you can bring it to life. The only thing stopping it from coming to fruition is our limiting belief that we can’t do it. You can.

Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being. ~Kevin Kruse.

In this materialistic and consumer filled world, it’s easy to get caught up in the me me me mentality. Fact of the matter is, the more you give, from the heart, the more you will receive. In years to come, what do you really get from all the stuff you’ve collected? Nothing much really. A house full of stuff and an empty heart and wallet.

The mind is everything. What you think, you become. ~Buddha.

Careful what you think of yourself because if you keep telling yourself you are a failure, you will be a failure. If you think you will be lonely for the rest of your life, you will be. Think optimistic thoughts, success thoughts, happy and loving thoughts and watch your life transform.

I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. ~Maya Angelou.

Make people feel good. All ways. Everyone needs to feel encouraged, loved, supported and special. If you treat people horribly, they will remember you for that, if you treat them with respect and love, they will remember that too. Be nice, really.

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. ~Les Brown.

Our fears have complete control over our lives until we decide to face them and flick them away. We put our dreams on the backburner or on the top shelf and take it out to look at it every now and then and put it back away because our fears tell us we can’t or we aren’t good enough. send your fear packing and go live your dreams

Build your own dreams or someone else will hire you to build theirs. ~Farrah Gray.

This one was a powerful one for me. Why should I spend my time and effort helping someone else achieve their dreams? What about mine? I have dreams too! Take action, make changes, have faith in yourself and start building your dreams, not someone else’s. If they can do it, so can you.

Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck. ~ Dalai Lama.

Another great one. We want things and get terribly upset when we don’t get them. After the fact, sometimes months or even years after the fact, we see that it was a wonderful twist of fate that we didn’t get it at the time. We don’t see it at the time but learn to appreciate when you don’t get something that you want, it’s because something better is coming.

These simple yet powerful quotes have kept me focused and determined to live a life of true happiness and abundance. Maybe some of these might be of great value to you. What are some of your favourite quotes? Share them with the others.

  • Author Of The Design Description: LIU Kai

Before RIGI took over this project, the owner had already got a complete set of space design plan, but his plan did not solve problems existing in traditional medical space. After RIGI is commissioned to do the design for this project, together with the owner, RIGI overthrows the original design concept. RIGI hopes to get rid of the sense of discomfort created by medical space through the space design, and to create a different atmosphere for the whole space. RIGI hopes to express the idea that medical space needs to show trust and hope through different design insights. There should be warmth, goodwill, openness, communication and smile in life. RIGI wishes that all of these could be shown within this space.

From the architect. Dental clinic is not a happy place to go, or we should say, no clinic could make people feel happy: the cold registration desk, the worrisome waiting chairs and the disturbing doors of the clinic rooms; the whole space is filled with a sense of distrust between doctors and patients. However, from spiritual aspect, clinic should be a place which brings hope, or at least should be a warm space. It might not be a delightful thing to go to the dentist, so RIGI does some magic to this space through design, bringing it some kind of warmth and caring.

Because there’s warmth, life should have been happier. This is a clinic in RIGI’s heart and this is a RIGI-styled life terminal.

The brand logo and brand IP image of this dental clinic is orange. So circle penetrates the whole design as basic element, and wood material and the match of selected colors deliver a warm texture sensually. The space consists of four areas: entrance, kids area, waiting area and clinic. Besides its basic function, each of the areas has its corresponding design insight, and together, these four areas make up the genes of this dental brand and turn the cold medical space into a life terminal which connects to people and spreads warmth and caring.

This project is located in a creative park. To analyze from the perspective of behavior, seeing a doctor is different from going shopping. There is almost no occasional guest for clinics; patients only choose to come after learning about it. The special nature of this industry determines that this space needs no use of eye-catching signs to attract customers, and a friendly façade could narrow the sense of distance between medical space and the patients. Thus, RIGI adopts a design strategy of weakening the boundary between outdoor and indoor space through using plants on the façade to connect the outdoor and indoor space, and simplifies the scale of the logo on the wall to avoid delivering excessive commercial atmosphere. The façade extends to the interior space through circle, an element from the IP image, and interesting materials are used to create a warm commercial atmosphere. The design of the front desk also tries to present an attitude of relaxed and equal. Starting from the entrance, people could tell this is a friendly space and a warm clinic.

Building a sense of trust within the space is one of RIGI’s design focuses. The world of adults is complex and lack of security, excessive attentions may create an unfriendly sense of distance on the contrary, so we suggest the owner to build a kids area in the important place of the entrance. Caring for kids is caring for adults; a clinic which cares for kids would, to some degree, present a sense of caring and responsibility. Space does not exist in isolation, the emotions and need of roles of people’s behavior within the space are what RIGI is always trying to explore. Design idea is not top-down propaganda, but something that users could always perceive and understand in the terminal. That is the key to design in this age.

Waiting chairs in traditional hospitals are arranged in a parallel way and in orders. However, it is this sense of order that enhances the unease of patients. After all, what waiting for you is a terrible experience of seeing a dentist; it is anything but nothing good to be looking forward. So we make the layout of the waiting area looks like a dinner table. Here people can sit face to face; they could communicate with each other or wait quietly. In this way, this waiting process is equal and random during which patients could feel the temperament of the space. The orange and transparent area on the left side of the waiting area is the central supply room of the clinic. All medical devices and gauze will be centralized and sterilized here; thus the philosophy of “going transparent” of the clinic will be reflected through this transparent and open way. All these designs make people have a further perception of the clinic’s philosophy, while life scenario oriented design further expresses the clinic’s warm and caring nature. It might not be a home, but RIGI hopes to bring people a perception of home through design. After all, clinic is a place where problems will be solved and hopes be created, just like a home.

When people see the rows of doorplates such as dental implant department and radiology department, to some extent, a sense of discomfort and anxiety will grow. RIGI cancels all the logos and adds text signs with readable dimensions on the glass of corridors while doing the design. The issue of spatial recognition chaos does not exist in a clinic of this size. RIGI also uses signs of numbers to connect the corridor and departments. Different numbers on the floor mark different functional spaces. To eliminate in maximum the uneasy and anxiety of seeing a doctor is the key point of RIGI’s design.

6 Things Differently-Abled Kids Made Me See

As a 19-year-old, I was advised to take up volunteering in order to beat clinical depression. A month into my year-long association with an organization for visually-challenged children, I had a differently-abled four-year old come up to me after my session with them, throw her tiny arms around my neck, and whisper ‘I love you’ into my ears. All because she’d loved the song I’d taught them that day. No one had ever said those three magic words to me in those 19 years. Not even my boyfriend of three months.

It changed me as a person, opening my heart and healing my wounds. I’ve been associated with differently-abled kids in many ways over the years, and each moment spent with these tots has taught me something profound about life. When I first began engaging with these kids, I’d often return feeling exhausted and frustrated (kids can be unmanageable, right?), and every time I’d vow never to go back. But the next weekend would arrive and the thought of spending some time away from my mad life would drive me back to those children. Today when I look back, I feel glad that I kept going back, because without these special kids, I’d never learn some basic truths about life that we grown-ups seem to forget.

It takes very little to be happy

Grownups have high expectations from life. Very often, we may have all the comforts of the world yet be unable to feel happy because of the aspirations and expectations we tend to burden ourselves with. Children, on the other hand, are happy with little things. A new song, a different story, a run in the park, a bag of candy… that’s all it takes these kids to be happy. When I gifted a five-year-old a Speak and Spell toy, his whole day turned around. When was the last time such a little thing brightened our day?

Love is for all

Children love without boundaries. They help another up when they fall, they share their candies with someone who’s sad. They are inclusive, encouraging, and their kindness extends towards all. Throughout my time as a volunteer, I’ve seen kids reaching out to another child, irrespective of their status, background, race, or color. How often do we find such a nonjudgmental grownup?

Live in the present

Children do not worry themselves with the thoughts of tomorrow. They are content living this day to the fullest. As a person who worries about needless things, I have learned from these little people that all we need to focus on is this moment. Tomorrow will take care of itself. And seriously, when did worry ever get us anywhere?

Show emotions freely

As adults, we tend to bind ourselves in restrictions. ‘This is proper, that is not.’ ‘Do this, don’t do that.’ Children are not familiar with the restraints that exist in the adult world, and show their emotions openly. If they feel happy, they laugh and clap. If they feel sad or scared, they cry. If they feel angry or annoyed, they sulk and make faces. We spend such a lot of time measuring our each action and reaction. What if we could be as spontaneous and straightforward as kids and just say whatever we felt? What if we could openly laugh or cry without caring who’s judging us?

It’s okay to have fun

Making a mess is fun. Dancing in the rain is fun. Splashing in mud is fun. Yes, you’ll have to clean up, but imagine the good times you’re having and the memories you’re making in the process. Children are the prime example of how to make light of every situation, without worrying about the consequences. There’s too much stress all around anyway. Why not just let everything go for a while and have some fun?

Life is simple

For children, the future is about endless opportunities. For some, it’s about being a vet, or a doctor, or the next great baker. For others, it’s about being just like their daddies or mommies when they grow up. I’ve seen terminally-ill children planning their future. I’ve met wheelchair-bound kids with cerebral palsy dream of becoming the next Taylor Swift or the next J K Rowling. Their enthusiasm about the future is something so hard to find among grownups. For us, the future seems scary. For them, it’s about a world full of love and equality and chocolates and candies. Sometimes we need to learn all over again how to look at life simply.

The love I received from these differently-abled kids made me believe in life again. I remember one of the kids asking me if happy endings really exist. I answered they do. Because they really do.

Toe Nail Fungus: Understand What it is, How you Got it and How to Treat It

toenail-fungus-278x300

Sometimes referred as Onychomycosis, toenail fungus starts as a yellow or white spot at the tip of the nail and works its way under the nail bed.

The moist and dark environment of nail bed serves as a perfect breeding ground for the fungus.

It starts growing quickly into a colony of fungi that covers the entire nail or even other nails if not treated immediately. The nail may get thicker or start crumbling in the later stages of the infection which is called distal onychomycosis. Initially the infection can be seen as white, yellow or brown streaks from above the nail which is called lateral onychomycosis.

How You Got It

This kind of fungal nail infection can develop from the fungi already present on our body. For example, if you have visited someone infected with these fungi, you have higher chances of catching the illness. According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), toenails are more prone to fungal infections as compared to fingernails. The warm & moist environment in your shoes is ideal for the growth of fungi.

Another most common host of toenail fungus is the pedicure tools at salon. Nail clippers and emery boards can easily spread fungal infections, if not properly sanitized. So, next time when you visit your salon for pedicure, make sure to ask the staff about how they disinfect their tools and how often it is done. Or the other way to protect yourself from this fungus is to avoid using nail clippers at salon to cut your cuticles. And also avoid going barefoot in public places.

You also have a safe place at home for these fungi to grow and transfer, like your gym pants, socks and gloves. Wearing the same tights, gloves, or gym socks for two consequent days, can create great environments for fungus to infect you. Mold and fungus thrive in dark, moist places like these clothes. So, experts recommend drying out your sweat pants, socks and gloves in air overnight before reuse.

Treatment

If you are looking for an instant fix, you might get disappointed here. The infected toe nail has to grow out completely for the fungus to be wiped out. And since toe nails grow slowly, you might not see all of it gone for up to a year.

Over-the-counter drugs are not recommended as effective Feet Remedies. Instead, consult a physician. He may prescribe you an oral antifungal medication, along with some medicines to apply. Like, terbinafine (Lamisil) and itraconazole (Sporanox).

Two of the most popular antifungal treatments for toe nail fungus are Kerydin and Jublia. Kerydin penetrates the thick nail plate and reach the infected area beneath the nail to prevent further growth of fungus. Jublia does the same by attaching to the keratin molecules in nails and then pass through the nail plate to the infection below. Depending on the type of fungi and the extent of the infection, these medicines may be taken for several months.

As per Dr. ANDREW WEIL, MD Arizona, alternative medicines of toenail fungus can be grapefruit seed extract and Tea tree oil. Simply dab the oil on nails twice a day for 2 months. Adding 1-2 cloves of garlic to daily diet can provide sufficient dosage of antifungal that may be helpful over time.

To prevent recurrence of toenail fungus, keep your feet clean and dry and regularly trim toenails. Wipe out water between the toes immediately after shower. Sprinkle antibacterial foot powder on your feet and in your shoes to prevent infections.
