Again at our usual spot within the hide at Ras Al Khor we waited, especially after torrential rains drenched the UAE. Eager to get a glimpse of the kingfisher who perches afar, to our surprise it gave us a warm welcome by choosing an open clutter free perch that too backlit in the right of the evening sun. Landed and trying to get perfect balance on a wobbly perch, it fluttered away in quick successions to keep itself up right and firm.
