A beautiful morning after a very stormy evening! This sunrise sure came as a beautiful surprise after that night of rain, wind, thunder and other loud things heard from my tent. Luckily I was able to capture some of the electrical storm over the mittens for a later post. This photograph is 5 exposures hand blended together for dynamic range. I had to take this shot down and reprocess it. It had some small issues here and there I didn’t notice before. It looks better to me now.

One of the most impressive peaks of the Dolomites surrounded by dark clouds just before a very stormy night. Not the dream weather for landscape photographers, but the mood was incredible for me and I could not miss the chance of capturing it. The night was crazy, we were in our tents while a big thunderstorm was passing on our heads…Call me crazy but It was amazing! I will never forget that night.

Una delle cime più spettacolari delle Dolomiti circondata da nuvole temporalesche. Sicuramente non la situazione preferita dai fotografi di paesaggi, ma l’atmosfera era stupenda per me e non potevo lasciarmi scappare l’occasione di catturarla. La notte è stata una vera avventura, con tuoni e fulmini per ore mentre ero rifugiato nella mia tenda ad attendere una schiarita. Datemi pure del pazzo ma è stato davvero emozionante, non mi dimenticherò mai quella notte.
