About six km. south west of Corralejo we find an area of about 5 kilometers long, with several volcanoes aligned perfectly towards North East.
This area of recent volcanoes is called “Red Mountain – Bayuyo”, and can distinguish up to 9 buildings for which volcanic activity, the island increased in size about 120 square kilometers.
These volcanoes are “recent” (50,000 years), and in addition to the volcanic edifices are also responsible for the lava fields surrounding them (Malpais), and in this episode was formed volcanic island of Lobos, just 2 km. to Corralejo.
This alignment of volcanoes begins in the village of Lajares, with the Red Mountain-Calderon Hondo, and is then slice the Caldera and Caldera Encantada, Boilers andfinally Bayuyo Volcano, which dominates the town of Corralejo.
