Crystal Ice Cave by chenxistanley by chenxistanley

Follow the trace of where Athabasca glacier used to be, there is the secret entrance of an ice cave. By touching the ice it feels like you can hear the glacier breathe and how it fight against the raising temperature through the history.

It’d be great to see you on Facebook

I finally got out and shot in some great conditions last night. There was a row of photographers up on Mam Tor when I arrived, all shooting the sunset, I wasn’t there for that, I was there to stretch my legs and wait for darkness to fall. I rattled off a few shots on the knoll the road snakes round and then moved to my favourite spot, this one. After scrambling up the steep side of the snow covered Tor, boots and buried in the snow, I set up again and waited for the cars to come.

I would usually remove distractions from the shot, but the light on the hill in the background was a skier trying to make the most of the conditions. I had a good chat to him when we were both about to head our separate ways. Cracking stuff!

Happy International Women’s Day!
Here’s to strong women.
May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.
