May 28th 2016 2:23 pm 11 miles north of Beresford, South Dakota.
The approaching supercell pulls the tornado right to us. Zoom in on the right side of this panoramic image for a better look at the tornado. This is 5 shots wide at 16mm each taken with Canon EOS 6D body and EF 16-35mmf/2.8L II usm lens.

This is one of those great locations that is a mini hiking adventure just to get here. Not much of a hike from the parking lot, this small little 10 min hike takes you right down to the cliffs of the Oregon coast. You then have to scramble down to an eroded section of the peninsula and nestle yourself into some exposed tree roots so you don’t slide off the cliff. This might sound more dramatic then it actually is but it is still a little freaky the first time you do it.
