A morning in November spent in a slushy puddle on the shore of Bow Lake while a snow squall moved through my scene. November is a fun time of year to shoot this lake when the weather is cold enough to produce new ice, chance of snow and open water. Depending on the weather the lakes really start to freeze in earnest the 2nd week of November. If you’re lucky you could get a fresh snow, some ice and open reflective water in early November. Certainly was worth it to me to take a chance and visit during this time.

Gåsgränd (Swedish: “Goose Alley”) is an alley in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. This road was initially named after a woman Ragnhild Grågås who lived there in 1492. She was accused for incest and was sentenced to banishment from the capital for defamation. The attention of the Stockholm towards her case led to the initial naming of the alley as “Alley of the Grey-Goose”.
