This image was taken in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, home to the oldest trees in the world, Bristlecone Pines. Some of these living trees exceed 4000 years of age and exhibit spectacular growth forms of twisted and beautifully colored wood.

Here’s an 8 image focus stacked shot from Punch Bowl Falls, OR. I’ve never shot the falls this way before so I decided to take a crack at shooting them with a telephoto lens at 93mm. It was definitely a bit of a pain to put together but fun none the less.

Ever since I saw a photograph of this place, I’ve always wanted to find this location. It’s not obvious, so it took me a while of hiking around. Pretty much everything here is sketchy and I don’t recommend it unless you are not afraid of loose ledges and heights. As I was waiting for sunset another hiker crossed over the rock formation so I decided to incorporate him in the image.
