After days of rain the the sun finally broke through. I must have sat there for hours overlooking the beautiful fjord while the clouds were ever shifting and the crepuscular rays graciously danced over the water.

I spent the last weekend up at one of my favorite desert locations. It was my third trip out this year, and I plan on returning a few more times. I’ve never been disappointed by this place. The conditions always seem to be appealing for photography which is great because it is quite a drive. The day started off quite bland, cloudless and hot with the sun beating down turning my face slight shades of pink. A few clouds began to blossom into the sky and quickly looked as if a storm was ready to dump onto the rocks. My excitement began to grow and felt like I was going to strike gold once again. However, that quickly changed as the clouds were moving at what seemed like a record pace. Compositions I had thought of previously were now under bluebird skies. The sun broke through the dark clouds briefly and lit up the red sandstone streaks as beautifully as I could recall. In the distance, a lone figure provides some scale to the landscape. Shortly after, the skies almost all but cleared by sunset leaving just a trickle of what was left of the dramatic clouds. While slightly disappointed with the lack of light, I couldn’t help but feel immense joy and happiness. To be in such a beautiful place with wonderful company was pure bliss, and reminded me that there is more to just photographing fiery sunsets. The evening concluded with a warm fire under the stars and wonderful conversation. Certainly not a bad way to end an evening up here!

If a sunrise is magical and special, it is even more, when you live the dawn of the moon. Also accompanied the chariot of fire in the sky. Everything becomes especially difficult to explain, magical and mystical at once. This corner of the Costa Brava, makes it even more mysterious at this time of night plus as the sea accompanied on great occasions, allowed to pose for such beauty.

Si un amanecer es mágico y especial, aún lo es mas, cuando vives el amanecer de la luna. Además acompañada del carro de fuego en el cielo. Todo se convierte en algo especial difícil de explicar, mágico y místico a la vez. Este rincón de la costa brava, aún lo hace mas misterioso a estas horas de la noche y además el mar acompañó como en las grandes ocasiones, se dejó posar ante tanta belleza.
