Eternal glow by ferrandalejandro by ferrandalejandro

Eternal pink series.

Probably my favourite image from my trip to Torres del Paine this march 2016. I’ve heared so much about the pink glow that these mountains got during sunrise and after a couple of days i haven’t seen any. Although i was super happy with the shots i was making, beautiful reflections, amazing clouds with different colors, i still couldn’t get the glow in the horns…

This morning i woke up at 5 am and walked for almost 1:30 hs in total darkness. In the middle of the walk and without any lights apart from my flashlight i saw a Puma at no more than 3 meters from me… Thinking about this scares me, but in that moment i was so focus and calm that i continued walking as if nothing was there.
I got to the spot that i selected during the day before almost and hour before sunrise. I tried different compositions and came out with beautiful frames (i even have this same shot 30 minutes earlier). During this sunrise i got perfect reflections and great pinks in the sky… but almost 20 mins after the sun came up through the horizon, my hopes of getting the horns on fire were almost gone…
I was shooting the last shots of the day, trying some different stuff with a tele; when the last red sun rays hit directly into the cuernos. The light was magical… I quickly dropped my D800 with the tele lens and grabbed my D810 with my 16-35 f4. I remembered my favourite compo from the previous shooting so i set the tripod and camera as fast as possible, estimate the correct exposure, focus on the branch and shoot. After my shot, the light in the cuernos was gone forever but this eternal glow lives now in this frame.

Mount Taranaki: Winter Sunrise by yanzhang by yanzhang

I started to shoot around this tarn from 3:30am on 4 July. I witnessed the dramatic change of the sky during the following 5 hours – from the amazing moonlight starry sky to this graceful sunrise.

Mount Taranaki is one of the most beautiful and featured mountains I have ever seen so far. Another nice thing to visit this mountain is that there are many possible ways to explore this corn-shaped mountain from different directions and different means. Someday in a near future I will climb to the summit of this mountain.
