Nova

Nova mountain is one of those mountains that i`ve been photographing for many years now. Its one that i feel connected with and i never get bored of shooting it. Im probably not the only one with a close connection to this stunning mountain.

In early april i finally had ideal conditions to take a proper aurora shot above it. Ironically we wrapped up a workshop the day before i shot this, and i felt bad for the group that they missed this spectacle with a day. Ryan and Eric were lucky enough to catch this amazing show in such a spectacular place.

Wish everyone a great weekend! Hope you like it.

Fisher River Valley by intrepidphotos by intrepidphotos

Towering dolerite columns at Devils Gullet plunge into the Fisher River valley and the remote Tasmanian central plateau. The storm engulfing Clumner Bluff (1559m) was directly overhead a few minutes earlier with white out conditions and summer snow. The dolerite columns are over 220m high and form part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, on the northern rim of the Great Western Tiers. Tasmania, Australia.

Enchanted canyon by crystallynn by crystallynn

The trees hadn’t gotten their leaves yet when we were here in march, so I’m really looking forward to returning to this enchanted canyon next week and seeing it with green. It will certainly change the mood of my photos.

Sahara 614 by PatKofahl by PatKofahl

Taken last week on our camel excursion into the Sahara desert at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga, Morocco. These are some of the highest dunes in the entire Sahara, reaching over 120 meters in height. The wind, which can often exceed 180 kph, can completely reshape the terrain, and so a particular “view” can vanish virtually overnight. Chances are that this particular configuration doesn’t even exist anymore.
