This was taken earlier this year as dawn light was starting to heat up but also as clouds rapidly started to fade away! Don’t you love those moments in the field where you’re giving a pep talk to nature to ‘hang in’ there for the critical moments of light lol. Fortunately there was noone around to hear me muttering and doing my cloud dance while wading in the lake.

A blood-red river flowing in a steep, green gulch. Perfectly shaped like a slot-canyon straight out of Arizona. If somebody told me this is what I will see in Scotland I would have declared him insane grin emoticon
We found this location by chance during our online research for the tour. We saw only a few rather unspectacular snapshots of this deep, but it looked interesting so we decided to give it a chance.
To find an entrance into this steep canyon was kind of a challenge and took us a while. But when we sliped down the last meters to the ground we were totally stunned by the overwhelming beauty and calmness of this place. One of my personal highlights of this trip!
