McKenzie River Magic by ZackSchnepf by ZackSchnepf

Captured last week on the McKenzie river. I always love photographing along the Mckenzie, the combination of gorgeous blue water and luscious green moss make for photo magic. With all the snow melting in the surrounding mountains and spring rains, this was the highest flow I have ever seen seen here. It was an extremely challenging scene to photograph with rushing water, a constant mist collecting on my lens, and very challenging light, but I’m happy with the image.

I created this image using the techniques covered in my latest instructional video. In the video I illustrate how I use the powerful tools and techniques available in Lightroom and Photoshop along with the TKActions V4 Panel to achieve an incredible level of control throughout my workflow. Askja by EmilienG by EmilienG

Askja is a caldera situated in a remote part of the central highlands of Iceland. The name Askja refers to a complex of nested calderas within the surrounding Dyngjufjöll mountains, which rise to 1,510 m (4,954 ft), askja meaning box or caldera in Icelandic.
The region is only accessible for a few months of the year. Being situated in the rain shadow to the northeast of the Vatnajökull glacier, the area receives only about 450 mm of rainfall annually. The area was used during training for the Apollo program to prepare astronauts for the lunar missions.
