I know spring is in full swing here in the northern hemisphere, but winter is coming for those in the southern – so here’s one more image from a night snow camping at Mount Rainier with my buddy Mike Bollino in February. I shot some pretty dramatic sunrise light at this spot the following morning, but I ended up preferring this high-key blue and white rendition from the afternoon we arrived at camp. I feel it conveys the purity of the post-snowstorm scene up there better than warm colors.

The Hole by giuseppechiauzzi by giuseppechiauzzi

This show at the Mont Cenis dam happens once every twenty years ..
When the dam is emptied for maintenance, are formed cracks in the earth with amazing shapes.
Reemerge old buildings, old roads, military bunkers, in short a lot of history.

Abiqua Kicks by erintoliephotography by erintoliephotography

I took this “selfie” just for kicks this morning. The real shots probably wont be processed till who knows when… Lately, photography is becoming more to me about the adventure and experience rather than getting ‘The Shot’. This was a super fun adventure.
I made the drive down the rough road to the trail head, figured I’d test out my new 4WD vehicles limits. Of course it was raining the entire time which made it all the more fun.
We’ve had some rare encounters with wildlife on the coast where I live… Bears and Cougars. It’s had me a bit spooked lately. So I insisted on yelling out “No bear, No Cat” every 20 yards or so on the trail. Then occasionally I’d belt out a tune at the top of my lungs. I constantly thought I was being stalked by a cougar, I guess my imagination got the better of me. But once I hit the falls all those thoughts vanished. I suppose that’s what happens to all us waterfall-chasers. Once we see the prize, nothing else exists, we are in the zone. That could be a good thing or a bad thing I suppose. I spent nearly 3 hours down here mostly goofing around and exploring. Not another soul for so many miles. I would have made perfect bear food 🙂

Columbia Hills Sunset by ChenSu by ChenSu

A super windy day at Columbia Hills state park. I picked up this image from many many blurred ones. This place attracted many photographers every year because the wildflowers here are simply amazing! You can see another photographer on the upper right corner who was seeking different angles. Thanks for looking!
