Light My Arch by Barisparildar by Barisparildar

If you’ve been to Mesa Arch around sunrise you know how hard it is to get a spot for your tripod. I was there at least an hour before sunrise but still most of the spots were taken by other photographers. So this was my spot. As I set my tripod I could tell that it was gonna be an amazing pink sunrise.

I was dying to walk around and get some different angles but I had no choice. I had to keep my position. So I could only get a small amount of the amazing clouds behind the arch.

It was a total wonderland for 15 mins. Next time I will set up a remote camera and just shoot a time lapse. And I will be totally free to catch different things around.

Have a great weekend!

I just released a new tutorial video, where you can see how I process one of my most popular shots “Road To Perdition”, you can check it out on my website under Tutorial Videos

Balsam root is exploding all over the hillsides in eastern Washington and it is a sight to behold for sure. The challenge, however is to deal with the high winds while trying to find a compelling composition.

For this particular image, I used two exposures for focus stacking, but actually fired lots more to get the right flower movement and positioning in the frame. Also, an ISO of 2000 was needed to have a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the movement.

Casterly Rock by Ursaat by Ursaat

In winter this impressive mountain is in perfect position to catch both sunrise and sunset light. This was a morning shoot as other places did not look good that day. This is a very accessible location so the only question is what comp to use, while I shot a lot of reflections in water pools I preferred this one with side light hitting the snow covered banks.
