This was the first fall color we saw on the South Island of New Zealand near Lake Anau. It was strange getting used to fall weather when I had just come from springtime conditions back home. Clouds and some scattered light really helped lend some drama to the scene.

Capitol Reef National Park. April 21, 2016. Late afternoon, overlooking the spring greens of the cottonwoods and fruit orchards of the historic Fruita settlement. High winds made things tricky up on this overlook, but the diffuse light really helped the scene.
