Summer Salutations by NathanielMerz by NathanielMerz

It’s not Patagonia or Iceland, nor even known anywhere outside of Korea, but it is a beautiful place nonetheless. The thick mud rendered my crocks useless and had me slipping all over the place, so I went barefoot and spent a wonderful morning squishing my way through this riverside spot.

Guess where??!??

A country that has more than 7,000 islands, got only two seasons: hot and hotter… :D, it has long stretches of unspoiled beach paradise, vast mountain ranges and dubbed as the Pearl Of The Orient Seas. Got it? It’s The Philippines!

This one is from the Valugan Boulder Beach of Batanes Islands. Located at the northernmost part of the country. It’s a two hour flight from the busy Metro. Haven for photographers and vacationists. You get roaring seas, luscious green hills, fishing villages and stunning views!

This image was taken way back when I was still using a Nikon d700. Loved that camera but had to let it go since its hard to keep up with two different systems. What made me shift back then? The accurate live expo-sim of Canon! Lol!

These are pink morning glories creeping out along the shores of the beach for that morning sunlight. It’s a two exposure blended together to keep my foreground as sharp as possible! Have a great week ahead!

on the 5th or 6th strong one it was in a perfect V shape then I decided to point the other way. next wave and it was gone…

Fire In The Welsh Skies by TheNarratographer by TheNarratographer

Tal-y-Llyn lake is situated in the Welsh district of Gwynedd, at the southern foot of the Snowdonia mountain range. I stumbled upon it purely by accident, having gotten lost on my way somewhere else. On the morning I found it, at around 5.30am a couple of days ago, it was as calm as a graveyard. Slowly, before the sun made an appearance to the right of frame, the clouds were lit a deep, burnt orange.

All of the colours in this image are original. This is not an HDR or had any editing (apart from sharpening) at all. I wanted to capture a little movement in the sky and the water, without turning it completely to milk. So, instead of using my Big Stopper, which would have resulted in an exposure time of around 4 minutes, I instead used a trio of ND grads, one of which I inverted, in order to balance the exposure but keep it within an acceptable range.
