As the title already says this image shows something unique – a rainbow in a one of the driest deserts in the world. The Namibrand right at the border of the Namib Naukluft National Park has nearly precipitation. I has been in Namibia 6 times and always in the rainy season but I was never lucky. Last April I guided a group of photographers trough Namibia and then finally I could witness a very very rare moment. A thunderstorm came over the desert, right before sunset and it started to rain about 10 minutes before sunset. The rainbow which came out was one of the most intense and colorful ones I’ve ever seen. I’ll never forget this very moment.

The Sagittarius Gole, spectacular and picturesque canyon carved by centuries of erosion of the rushing waters of the Sagittario river, represent one of the most important natural areas in Europe. The Regional Nature Reserve of the Sagittarius Gole (WWF since 1991) is located in the town of Anversa degli Abruzzi.

After two hours, starting from Rome, we reached this magical place driving along a small road for several kilometers on the bottom of this deep canyon.
The view of the lake, which suddenly appears after a curve, is one of the the most gorgeous spots that you can find in central Italy.

Last September I traveled trough Alberta and the Rockys around Banff NP. One of my aims was the fantastic Mount Assiniboine. The strange thing about this place was, that I was the only one on the whole campground of 2 nights. Very strange to lie in a small tent in the middle of a forest, being the only human around. But meanwhile I got used to it. Compared to the crowds all over the world it is the most amazing thing to be alone on such a magic place. The night was cold but in the morning there was nearly no wind so I could take this image of the “Matterhorn” of Canada.
