I spent a memorable day during my second visit to Mono Lake last year. The low water levels made compositions particularly tricky, or at least it felt that way to me, anyway. I had photographed this tufa tower at about every possible angle, but I didn’t feel inspired until sunset, when some extremely defined sunrays erupted through some storm clouds on the horizon.
