The salt flats of Death Valley are unique beyond words. The first image I saw of this location was from Chris Moore of Exploring Light Photography and was immediately struck with the beauty of this location within Death Valley. Since I first saw Chris’s beautiful image up until the time I was lucky enough to visit Death Valley for the first time this February, I’ve seen many images from this location from the best landscape photographers out there, all beautiful and inspirational which only added to my desire to see this location. So, nothing earth shattering in regards to composition here as it’s basically the same approach many before me have taken, simply my take from a location I just had to see, whether I took my camera out of my bag or not. Thankfully though, I DID take my camera out of my bag and was lucky enough to capture the reflected sun star.

The Red Hills by erezmarom by erezmarom

Unique desert landscape can be found in the Danakil Depression. The red earth, dry climate and hazy skies give it an almost Martian appearance. We’ll spend 4 days in the Danakil shooting a variety of volcanic landscapes including a close encounter with an active volcano on my ‘Earth, Wind and Fire ‘ Ethiopia photo workshop. If you’re interested in joining us, please see details on the workshop webpage and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
