Milky Way rising over the Independance Mine by dalefpoll by dalefpoll

Victor, Colorado – the City of Gold Mines is located about 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs, CO. The Milky Way is particularly photogenic in this area with numerous, well preserved mines to place as interesting foreground subjects.

Horseshoe Bend Sunset by netascape by netascape

This is the last stop that concludes our trip to the “Utah Grand Circle”. We visited Zion, Bryce, Arches, and drove through Monument Valley. We arrived at Horseshoe Bend in Page, AZ at about 7:30pm. Perfect Timing – early enough to find one of of the best photography spots, but didn’t need to wait for too long for the sunset. This is the first time that I would (have to) be patiently observe the sun for the whole golden hour. It is amazing to see how the setting sun interacts with the moving clouds, with color changing from plain bright white and blue, to orange, then red, then dark red, and along with the color and light tone changes, the cloud formation also alters with the wind. You wouldn’t felt bored looking all these dynamic interactions, even for as long as more than an hour.
