After almost getting swept away by a rogue wave while taking the shot ‘Turbulence’, I started walking towards a higher vantage point perhaps to ensure my safety for the rest of the shoot. As I approached the naturally carved steps to go higher, my buddy Wajahat pointed out the potential of a composition that I almost missed. Gladly, I planted my tripod right there and took a few shots from a relatively safe position.

Aerial photography in Iceland can be hit or miss depending on the weather. SInce it can change quickly, I went for it during what appeared to be a period of stable weather soon after I arrived. Flying in and out of the clouds made composing difficult, but some beautiful lighting presented itself above the rhyolite mountains of the interior Highlands. These hills reminded me more of desserts than mountains, but delicious none the less.
