This windmill is used to manage the waterlevels in the grasslands and was being built in 1684 in Leiderdorp. In 2006 the windmill was demolished and stored until they rebuild the mill in 2009 but on a different location; Hoogmade.
It is open to visit the windmill but only when the vanes are turning.

De Kalkmolen is een wipmolen (om de polder mee droog te houden) en werd in 1684 gebouwd om de Kalkpolder in Leiderdorp te bemalen. De molen werd in 2006 in delen afgebroken en tijdelijk opgeslagen. In 2009 kreeg de Kalkmolen een nieuwe bestemming in Hoogmade: samen met de Doesmolen wordt hij nu ingezet voor bemaling van de Doespolder. Bij draaiende wieken is de molen open voor bezichtiging.

Años sin visitar Barrika. Tenía ganas de volver y lo hice en compañía de Rafa Irusta. La luz no quiso acompañarnos con sus mejores galas, pero aún así disfruté un montón de la sesión y de la charla. Lo cierto es que es un enclave con mucho encanto y no me extraña que suela estar atestado de cámaras!
