The Old Williamson County Jail – Georgetown, Texas
312 Main Street circa 1888. Building cost $22,000. The lawlessness of the frontier days prompted county fathers to commission this imposing fortress-like jail. It housed prisoners until 1989; including Tom Young, the last man hanged in Williamson County (1906), and infamous serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, who was sentenced to death for a Williamson County murder.
The building is still in use today, as county offices. Workers claim binders fall from the shelves and their lunches fly off desks on a routine basis
