Are You Ready To Be An Entrepreneur
Imagine being able to work from home, organizing your online business from the tips of your fingers dancing across your laptop, taking vacations for as long as you want to deserted islands, or living in a great city, conducting business with eager sponsors and businessmen…
It’s the dream we all want! Working for ourselves, not having to answer to anyone, not having to wake up at 6 in the morning to commute to work, deciding our own hours and hiring people as we see fit. Are we all entrepreneurs inside?
Not so fast. Although I do this myself, it’s actually incredibly difficult to start your own business, and to succeed with it on a liveable level. Some people I know who have tried ultimately decided that they didn’t like it. It could be the high level of stress, knowing that your next paycheck relies solely on your own personal efforts, or that the freedom of self-employment is oftentimes fatal, when we are so used to adhering to schedules and appointments for most of our life.
1. Can You Handle Free Time?
Some people find the last one a bit of a paradox. Wouldn’t we all love to live a life off the 9 to 5 grid, able to work at our own hours? Imagine all that you could do with all that free time! Well, what would you do?
When I travel and observe other people, I see what happens when people step off the rails for their own time in the spotlight. Here we had young, bright people with great ideas and too much free time – eventually, the freedom caught up to them, and I saw so many people whittling away their savings that they were supposed to use for their online business and marketing on lazy days at the pool, spending their time on Youtube and buying silly things.
Imagine if you quit your job tomorrow with the savings you had and a dream in mind. What happens next? The reality is, that a life off of a schedule is quite hard to get used to. We all know how we feel when we get a day off – we laze around in our pyjamas, take multiple naps and snack in between episodes of our favourite drama or a run in the park. Now imagine doing that everyday. To many people, the shock of coming off of a scheduled life is quite profound. Suddenly, with no one to respond to, your own volition is the only thing that keeps you going. You must be strong and determined in order to not fall into a slump of endless writer’s block and napping days.
2. Can You Afford It?
Most business need some sort of start up capital; in the forms of savings, investments and time, just to say the least. This is strange to say, but successful businesses don’t happen from people who put 100% of themselves into it, because you need to have a lot of everything. Unless you’re already a millionaire, you’re probably going to have to continue working your job in order to pay the bills while you carve your dreams into reality. It’s a lot of work, and many people struggle to overcome this work overload.
3. Do You Have The Patience?
Some of my friends have recently achieved success by using the Amazon website to sell products that they source from developing countries. It’s a popular system to start your first business, but they often worked up to 20 hours a day to get it going. After the plethora of difficult tasks that are required to get things going, including all the research, marketing, international communications, language barrier, trust, design, experimenting, finances and then finally pulling the trigger, it was almost as much work watching them do it as doing it!
However, those who persisted succeeded after a lot of hard work. After they started making sales, they continued to have to put 100% of the revenue from it back into the product in order to keep up with order demands. Despite earning up to $10,000 a month from the sales, it still took them up to a year in order to make pocket profit from it because of sales demand. Another thing to think of when it comes to working online.
Being an entrepreneur is more than just a clever job title. It takes a ton of hard work, patience, passion and perseverance to your cause. Don’t let anything deter you, but it’s important to face reality when deciding to do it. People come up with clever business ideas all the time – a friend of mine recently became a success dog walker through her local business, showing you that there is indeed a market for anything. With 7 billion people on the earth, any idea that you have certainly has merit for someone, somewhere!
Look for ideas anywhere you can, save your money, do the research, and when it’s time to pull the trigger, expect anything. Amazon.com started with a guy selling books out of his garage. What can you do next?

Country House Renovation in Empordà / ARQUITECTURA-G

This is a country house located in the Catalan Empordà. Although it’s surrounded by fruit trees and fields, it isn’t completely alone, as it shares a wall with another house of smaller size.
© José Hevia
The house is the result of a series of extensions that happened over time giving answer to both residential and agricultural needs. When we first arrived we discovered different volumes in three levels, with a myriad of enchained rooms, with some of them lacking light and ventilation. The central part of the house was the most obscure part of it as it was far from the windows.
© José Hevia
The main intervention consists in introducing light and fresh air in the core of the house creating exterior areas of relation. We take advantage of an existing ground floor patio, and we open up a new and larger one in the first floor. This last one puts in relation the more public areas of the house, and is where the pool is.

We exposed all the stone walls, removing minor walls, allowing new circulations that foster the labyrinthine character of the house, and paradoxically improving its use.
© José Hevia
All the new steel structure is based on the rhythm of a series of 100×100 steel columns that are repeated in different parts. The new structure, as well as the new doors and window frames, is painted burgundy to easily make the distinction between what is new and what was already there.

Every room is connected to the whole, but designed as an independent unit, equipped with its own built-in furniture.

The stone volumes are painted off-white so we achieve a neutral, natural background where the new materials play an important role in space definition. Thus, the brown colour glaze tiles are the common thread that walks the inhabitant all the time in contrast with the antique terracotta tile floors.

The result is a country house plenty of living and dining rooms where the family and their frequent guests can work, rest, eat, sleep and swim.

From the architect. This house was built in the newly-developed subdivision surrounding new housing. While planning a design with client many times, we hit upon a keyword: “comfy house” so we considered how to make a welcoming atmosphere with lots of light.

How To Access Inner Wealth and Leave Your Poverty Mindset Behind

Does the First Minute of Your Day ALWAYS Suck?
The alarm went off…SIGH.
Every day, this struggle, just to do the minimum, no joy, no excitement.
The truth is, when it comes to your life work, you’ve already called in sick.
Can you even remember what excitement is?
Doctor, what’s the prognosis?
First, the Bad News…This Problem is Inside You
You’re suffering from poverty, but not necessarily of money. No, it’s a lack of aspiration, a poverty mind-set.
Imagine if all the money you had was completely borrowed, as you would on high-interest credit cards. Not good, right? But, you’re tolerating a poverty mind-set and so suffering great pain every day.
If all you allow yourself is only the borrowed credit lines of other people’s opinions and expectations, you’re poor, and you’re suffering spirit-killing rates of emotional interest.
Living off someone else’s assets drains your health, leading to poverty of energy, excess anxiety, fear, and stress.
Worst of all, you’ve become a stranger to yourself.
Imagine, at the same time, that you have all kinds of assets, you’d forgotten or never knew of? Wouldn’t you want to stop living on borrowed assets and be self-sufficient?
So, here’s the GOOD NEWS:
The Solution, and the Potential for an AWESOME FUTURE are Inside You
What if I told you that EVERYTHING you needed to transform how you feel was, in fact, inside you this very minute?
What if I told you that you have the internal assets already that can provide you with inner wealth and start you a path to consistently life-affirming and ever present joy?
Remember, if your spirit is poor, odds are, you live on the lines of credit provided by what other people have said about you and what they give you credit for, so toss away those borrowed mental and emotional assets, and unlock that inventory of inner riches right now.
Remember, all the books on business talk about the entrepreneurial mind as the key to creating wealth. Once a business coach told me that the biggest challenge in changing your life work and beginning a wonderful life-work business wasn’t outside, but inside. He was right.
You’re the only person, the only one, that you are with 24/7.
If your relationship with yourself isn’t right, your poverty of self-regard and poverty of self-awareness will destroy your quality of life, so transform that relationship into calm self-acceptance and absolute self-satisfaction.
Quick, take these things down!
Guess What: The Path Forward Goes Backward…To and Through Yourself
1-Go back to childhood, and write about joy in past experiences. Be specific and detailed!
2-Now, close your eyes, see what you’ve written in your mind’s eye, and feel it.
3-Pick up your magic wand and say, “If anything and everything were possible, how would I spend my days?”
4-Close your eyes again, now find that joyous future, then write those feelings down. Read them out loud when you go to bed, and when you get up.
5-Realize that joy isn’t always crazing and noisy: sometimes it’s no less powerful for its quiet and awesome clarity, like the stealth of a submarine with unsurpassed weaponry and capability.
6-Identify with yourself at all times. If something goes wrong, accept it, move on. Always, ALWAYS, be kind to yourself, have compassion for yourself, just as much as you would for a loved one or dear friend.
7-Concentrate on productivity and creativity, not on mistakes. Revel in the wealth of every day being a giant opportunity. And, best of all, you can increase your inner wealth as your happiness and ease grow.
8-Don’t limit your new found consciousness to the beginning and end of each day. During the day, observe your thoughts; if you have a negative one or one based on someone else’s opinions or expectations of you, substitute a new one based on your newly discovered and rediscovered inner wealth.
Where do you start?
Your Future is INSIDE YOU: What will it be?
Start with tomorrow, your first day of opportunity.
Imagine the excitement.
You’ve actually woken up before your alarm clock.
You grab your notebook with all the ideas and triumphant episodes you have imagined in the morning.
How lucky are you?
Imagine, you’ve tried to go to sleep visualizing that newly discovered, gleaming vault inside you.
Who needs an alarm clock now? Bet you barely got to sleep, visualizing an awesome future all night.
Tomorrow: It’s a new day, a new life. Make the most of it!!
