8 Super Fun Ways To Boost Your Brain Power Right Now

We all would ideally love our brains to be sharp as tacks forever. Whether or not we can achieve this, time will only know, but in the meantime there are many fun little and simple things you can do to keep your brain active and sharp. Too many of us fall into a pattern of work, home, TV and sleep. Rinse and repeat the next day and the next day. Work tires us out and we don’t feel much like doing anything too productive after an 8 or 10-hour work day let alone work up our brains again. Fear not. These are fun and effective.

It is important to keep our brains busy, just as tend to our bodies. We like to eat healthy and stay fit but often forget our brains need a work out too. These fun little things will give your brain a nice healthy boost.

Brain FrequenciesCrossword puzzles.

The best by far but make sure you don’t always just do the easy ones you like to do, and do all the time. Try challenging yourself a bit with different types of puzzles. Do the number ones if you always do the word ones or vice versa. This will boost your brain up super fast.

Learn a new language.

If you want to be fluent in another language now’s the time to learn. Or maybe you just want to learn a few phrases and words. Grab a book, find a free online class and start practicing. Your brain will jump to the challenge and it will be frustrating at first, or fun, but once you get the hang of it you will love it.

Play an instrument.

Especially if you’ve never picked one up before in your life. A flute, a piano, a guitar or maybe even a kazoo. Find one and start playing it. you can do this for fun or as a new hobby. You can easily find free beginner’s lessons on line to get you started. Your brain will thank you and love you for this one.

Read and follow a map.

Who uses maps anymore now that we have GPS’s and maps on our phones. We plug in the coordinates and an automated voice tells us where to go, though not always accurately. Grab a map and follow the road. This simple exercise puts your brain in high gear and will also feeling very victorious that you actually read a map successfully and got you to your destination.

Volunteer at an animal shelter.

There is lots to learn and love about being with animals, especially ones that can’t do anything for you but love you back. Hanging out at a shelter will teach you new things about how to care for something other than yourself and your family. They require special care and with this new skill you will not only open your heart but your mind too.

Drink water.

Though this seems too simple and maybe a bit of a no brainer (pardon the pun) it should be noted that often, when we get too busy in our day with work and life, we forget to drink enough water, which then makes us feel tired, lazy and cranky. If you remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day, staying hydrated will not only keep your body in good physical health but will also keep your mind awake and sharp.

Get out in nature.

Grab a book about trees or flowers or birds even and get out and start identifying some of the things in the park down the street. Turn off the computer and the iPad and get out and enjoy nature. While you’re out there, may as well learn about some of the things you see every day too!! Why not?

Learn a sport.

It could be tennis, or swimming, or bodybuilding. Pick something that has always interested you and go out and learn how to do it. When you’re done learning it, find ways to improve on it or learn another one. Staying physically active is an excellent way to keep our brains sharp and active.

Our mental health is very important and it’s mandatory to keep your brain exercised as you do your body. By the time you reach 80 or 90 or maybe even 100, you’ll be fit, talented, happy and super smart!

16 Easy and Effective Morning Mood Boosters for Non-Morning Person

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

If you are not a morning person, you’d agree that there is no better time for you to murder someone than in the morning when they force you to wake up. That feeling when you are roughly ripped from your unconsciousness, either by screaming alarm, violent shake, or glaring sunlight is painful and disorienting. You never get used to it even after a whole lifetime of practice. It turns you into a cranky and dissatisfied individual – not a very attractive nor appealing individual, by the way.

Sadly, no matter how much you’d rather put your middle finger to the world, duty still calls. Works need to be done, dreams need to be chased, bills need to be paid. Thankfully, there are some hacks to make you feel better, happier, and more productive in the morning. Here are some morning mood boosters to make your morning less miserable.

1. Get Enough Sleep

get enough sleep

Do you know that inside our body, there is a built in clock called Circadian Rythm – or better known as biological clock? It means our body can understand the best daily schedule for itself. It knows when to eat, when to rest, and most importantly, when to wake. Our body has needs and biological clocks ensure that it gets what it needs on time. In the morning, our body is scheduled to already have enough rest and it needs to wake up to get breakfast. But, if our body somehow didn’t get enough rest for the night, the biological clock will start to mess up. We won’t be able to wake up naturally in the morning.

Everybody has sleep quota, but the number vary from each person. Normally, people need 6-9 hours of night sleep. Track your own sleeping quota, make notes at what number of hours of sleep you feel the most energized during the day. Then, make commitment to fulfill that quota every night. Following regular schedule for sleeping can be hard for modern lifestyle with shift work and frequent business travel to different time zone. For that, aim to increase your productivity during work hour instead of working for longer hour. Get quality sleep so you can get the most benefit of sleeping in the shortest time.

2. Wake Up Slowly

I used to set my alarm ALAP, or as late as possible. I thought the extra minutes of sleep will make me feel more satisfied. I was wrong. Big time.

Is there any worse way to wake up than have an alarm blasted right near your ears? Yes, there is. It is when I look at said alarm and notice that I have just enough time to brush my teeth, dress up, and chew my breakfast. That makes me jump from my bed, right away! For me, it feels as if I’m ‘warping’ from one dimension (my dream) to another (my reality), and ‘warping’ takes energy. So, I just wake up for several seconds and I feel tired and offended already. Not a good way to start a day.

The best way to wake up is to do it slowly. After you realize you’re awake, don’t move suddenly. Let your consciousness slowly build up and give time for your body to start their ‘waking mode’. Then, sit on your bed before you rise and start the morning routine. Take around 3-5 minutes for the whole process. This will makes you feel less disoriented, less tired, and more content.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

3. Avoid Looking at Your Phone

Many people automatically reach their phone the moment they wake up. Partly because most of them use their phone as their alarm. I personally prefer a separate alarm, because once I lay my hand on my phone to dismiss my alarm, I automatically tempted to do more. For example, checking messages and email and group chat. Before I know it, I’ve spend 20 minutes trying to connect myself to the world mere seconds after I wake up.
I think, before I try to connect with outside world, it’s important to connect to myself first. That’s why I prefer to put my phone away from my arm reach in bed.

4. Five Minutes Meditation

When you sleep, you part with your consciousness for a while. Now, after you wake up, you will need to reconnect with your own self. Take five more minutes after you wake up to stay still. Focus your thought to remember who you are, where you are, and what your life purposes are. For example, if you are Frodo of The Lord of The Rings, you can think like this: “I am Frodo, I’m in the middle of my journey to Mordor, and I have to destroy this evil ring, whatever it takes, to save the world”. This easy practice will make you focused, motivated, and determined in the morning.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

5. Greet the Morning

Now, it’s time to move out of the bed. What awaits you? A fresh, cool, and crisp morning air that is good for your health and your alertness. Stand up in front of the window and open it, let the morning air caress your face. Observe the morning with all your senses. Look at the color of the sky. Listen to the birds chirping.

As you start using your senses, you’ll be gently pulled from your unconsciousness into full awareness. Not only your mind has completely awake, but your senses are too.

6. Ten Minutes Exercise

Now, when you’re already focused, motivated, and determined, getting those limbs to move is easier. Do simple warming up exercise like nodding your head rythmically, lifting your shoulder up and down, twisting your waist left and right, and walking in place. This will stretch your muscle after a whole night of lying down. Believe me, the muscle burn you’ll feel is satisfying and makes you feel accomplished.

7. Cold Shower

Now, after you exercise, take a cold shower. Now, the thought of dumping cold water to your entire body seems horrifying. In fact, it makes you more averse to waking up than the thought of hot shower. But, believe me, it is not that bad. If it makes you feel better, James Bond takes this kind of shower everyday.

It is actually refreshing and brings you into full alertness. When the water comes into contact with our skin, the shock prompts our body to seek warmth. It will take a deep breath and pump a rush of blood to our entire body – giving it a natural boost of energy. That energy is perfect for amunition for the rest of the day. A moist and healthy skin and hair is just side benefit.

8. Mood Boosting Music

As you exit the shower and make way to your room to dress up, turn on your music player. Make a ‘morning mood’ playlist beforehand, contains songs with uplifting melody and lyric you find motivating. It doesn’t have to be an obvious motivation song, like Mariah Carey’s Hero or Bruno Mars’ Today My Life Begin. Every song you personally found motivating should be included to the list.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

9. Apply Essential Oil

After dressing up and putting up some make up, don’t worry to apply a sheer magic of mood booster: aromatherapy. There are various type of aromatherapy, each with their own effect. For your purpose, I’d recommed aromatherapy with mood boosting and energizing effect. Those are the scents of orange, lemon, mint, and bergamot.
Pick an organic essential oil for this to minimize skin irritation. You can apply them in certain part of your body like a perfume – on your wrist, your neck, or behind your ear.

10. Hug Your Loved One

Now, smelling nice and looking impeccable, show up on the living room to meet your loved one for breakfast. They can be your parents if you’re still living with them, your spouse, your kids, or even your housemate if you’re still single. Hugging people you love has this grounding effect. It reminds you that you have to do your best today for the sake of your loved one. You will do awesome thing today at work and at night you’ll come back accomplished to your loved one.

If you live alone, simply send a ‘Good morning, I love you’ to your girlfriend or boyfriend or parents. It can serves as a morning mood buster as well as a hug.

11. Light, Tasty, Nutritious Breakfast

light and healthy breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, period. When you sleep, you’re essentially fasting because there is no nutrition intake. This makes your blood sugar especially low. Meanwhile, blood sugar gives you energy to do your activity later in the day – whether muscle work or brain work. Not replenishing this needs will make you tired and feeling dull in the morning.

Your breakfast should be light, so you can easily chew it and your body can easily digest it. Tasty, so you will feel ‘worth it’ to make time for breakfast. Nutritious, because it’s the point of having breakfast – to get the nutrition. Ideally, your breakfast should contain protein, calcium, a little fat, a little fiber, and a little sugar. It means variety of choices, like eggs, fish, fruit or vegetables, whole wheat cereal, yogurt, and many other tasty choices.

12. Hot Chocolate

Are you thinking of snatching a cup of Starbucks later on your way to work? While coffee is definitely the most popular morning beverage for office workers, cocoa is maybe the best. Coffee will help you focus during your work, but cocoa with its flavonoid can do the same while improving your mood in the process.

So, after a well balanced meal, make sure to sip a nice cup of hot chocolate. The sugar in it is also enough to keep you going through the day.

13. Smile

Smile is really an effortless yet powerful act. Smile comes naturally when you’re happy, but it goes backward too. Meaning, even if you only fake a smile, your brain will think that you’re happy. Neat, isn’t it? And when you feel happy, then your mood will skyrocket and you’re ready for the world.

Make sure to put your best smile before you open the door to go to work. To make sure you won’t forget this, put a reminder to smile in your door.

14. Sunlight

Now, it’s time to get out of the house. But, it doesn’t mean that the mood boosting ritual is complete. It needs a finishing touch, which is available outside your house. It is a poweful light that can warm you and make you feel better about the world. It improves your mood and makes you healthy. It is completely free and abundant, It’s not futuristic at all, it’s completely basic and natural: sunlight.

Our biological clock also runs based on the availability of sunlight. When the sunlight goes out, it knows that it’s time for your body to rest and sleep, so you become sleepy. When it feels the sunlight, it knows that it’s time for your body to work, so you’ll find yourself alert and energized.
Spend several minutes to stand under the morning sun before you go into your car, into your bus, or into your subway station. Recharge yourself by going out and basking in the warm morning sunlight.

15. Do One Kindness Act

Now, you are outside. Complete your day by performing one kindness act during your way to work. Human is naturally kind, and being able to act according to their nature will give you happiness. As you feel happy and accomplished, your mood will be at its peak.

Get creative with the kindness act. Find easy way to perform kindness while you’re commuting. For example, giving away your subway seat to an elderly or smiling at strangers. You can also drop a dollar or two on the street – who knows someone who desperately need it will be lucky enough to pick it.

16. Do Something that Makes You Happy

Now, your day is officially start! You’ve gone through the most positive morning routine ever. For that, feel free to reward yourself. Allow yourself to do something that makes you happy today. Is it a quick visit to nearest cafe for its smoothie? Is it a quick read of a chapter of your favorite novel before work? Your pick.

Doing this will make you feel accomplished. It boost your mood and confidence. What a perfect way to start the rest of your day.

The list above is totally customizable. You can pick which one is most suitable and effective for you. But, I found out that doing all nine makes the best morning mood boosters combo – they’re easy anyway. So, are you ready to conquer the day?

10 Productivity Musts for Freelancers

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

As a freelancer, you’re in charge of planning your day. You get to decide which tasks you want to work on first and when to take your breaks.

Unfortunately, this freedom can either make or break your career. If you’re not careful, hours can tick away without you finishing a single project. Worse, you can even end up with a messy desk and an almost untouched to-do list.

Wondering how to get the most out of your time? Follow these 10 productivity tips for freelancers to get more out of your workday.

Bonus: you’ll get more out of your free time, as well!

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

1. Prioritize Your Tasks

It seems like a no-brainer. You get the most important things done first and you can finish the rest of your tasks quickly.

//c.amazon-adsystem.com/aax2/getads.js

//<![CDATA[
aax_getad_mpb({

//]]>

Unfortunately, not everything turns out the way we plan the all the time. As your creativity and energy can vary throughout the day, it’s best if you can assess yourself first before getting straight to work. You might even be surprised at what you’ll find.

Some people who identify as “morning people” have major breakthroughs at night. There are night owls who discover more creativity in the morning. If the nature of your business is creative, be mindful of when you get your best work done. It may be the opposite of what you think.

As you prioritize your task, make sure to structure your to-do list to match your energy. Once you finish work for the day, make a list of any leftover tasks and engagements approaching deadlines. (Evernote is a favorite for lists). Doing this will enable you to begin the next day with a fresh energy and gameplan.

2. Make a Schedule- And Stick To It

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

make a schedule

Armed with the list you created at the end of your last work day (#1), plug in your schedule for the day. Most freelancers balk at this suggestion, as avoiding the 9-5 workday is often why we get into freelancing in the first place.

Making a schedule doesn’t mean giving up your flexibility. It means setting times when you’ll be ultra-efficient so that you can have the freedom to enjoy your time outside of your workstation.

3. Set A Specific Time for E-mail

How many times have you thought “I’ll just answer this one quick e-mail…” and then realized an hour has gone by? Or noticed that “New Message” notification, only to get tied up responding to a series of questions?

As a freelancer, you want your clients to know that you are attentive and available. But you also have a million other things to get done.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

The solution?

Set a specific time to check and respond to e-mails. Studies suggest that good email etiquette means responding within 24 hours. Optimally, you can check your inbox once in the morning and once in the afternoon. While you’re away, you can set an auto-response to explain when you’ll be actively responding.

4. Realize Repeat Tasks and Assign a Process

Do you remember what life was like before we had applications for everything? Rolodexes, paper charts, and battery-powered Dictaphones were standard in most medical offices.

We can learn a lot from modern technology in this aspect: if there’s a way to simplify, do it. Noticed that you get a lot of calls at 9:00am? Make that your window of availability over the phone. Tired of typing out the same e-mail over and over? Use a canned response system (MailChimp has some great ones).

Try to recognize when you’re doing something more than once and create a process for it. It will save you time, and sanity!

5. Get Organized. Really.

Albert Einstein once quoted: “If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, what, then, is an empty desk a sign of?”

Getting organized is one of the best ways to boost your productivity and control your madness.

Do you waste time trying to locate documents on your computer? Throw them in a “Common Documents” folder in Google Drive. Spending too long scrolling through your clients in your smartphone? Use a spreadsheet or CRM of your choice to organize your contacts.

You’ll be amazed how much better you can feel once you have everything in one place. You’ll also save precious time off of your workday.

6. Complete the Small Stuff

Have you noticed that tasks seem to multiply when you’re in a hurry? The presentation you were sure was complete is missing a crucial point. As you add it, you realize the image you attached is the wrong size. Just before you submit the final draft to your client, you realize that you have two e-mail addresses for her, and aren’t sure which one to use. Now you’re right up against your deadline.

How did this happen?

Often, we brush simple tasks aside,thinking that we can quickly complete them at a later time. This leaves us rushing to complete a stack of projects that often are more complex than we first realized.

Here’s a great solution:

Get the small stuff out of the way. Not only can this help lessen your workload, but it can also give you a sense of accomplishment which is essential particularly when you’re dealing with multiple projects.

7. Do The Worst Task First

Dreading that phone call with an unhappy executive? Tempted to wait until later to dial the number?

Don’t. Just do it now.

By addressing the least desirable task first, you’re avoiding the dangerous lure of procrastination. You’ll also be able to move forward without it hanging over your head the rest of the day. And once you’ve tackled the tough stuff, everything else suddenly becomes more simple.

8. Compete Against Yourself

One of the most common complaints of freelancers is that they no longer have the healthy peer pressure to over-perform. It takes a great deal of integrity to be productive all day.

Without a cubicle partner to compete against, how do you push yourself to get more done?

By challenging the best competition out there—yourself. Start by setting a timer for 30 minutes, and work on one task. This means no e-mail, phone, social media, snack breaks or conversations with the roommate. Try to finish the work or just make any tangible progress.

When the timer goes off, move on to another task, and set the timer again. By working in dedicated increments, you are committing yourself to resist all distraction. You also get to approach each new 30-minute interval with renewed energy.

9. Take (Timed) Breaks

timed break time

You’ve drafted a schedule, with your least favorite task first. You’re finishing small tasks as they come. You have specific times for processes that reflect your creative energy. Now, there’s one more thing missing in the equation- planned breaks.

More and more studies are revealing the importance of taking regular breaks during the workday. More energy, better health, and a boost in motivation are only some of the benefits you can get from giving yourself a few minutes to breathe freely during the day.

And it’s not just about the number of minutes, the quality of your breaks is important, as well. Try to get a little exercise, drink a glass of water, and detach yourself from your computer screen for at least five minutes every hour.

If you’re competing against the clock (#8), you can schedule this hourly. Don’t forget to schedule longer mealtime breaks as well, so you can prepare something that will give you sustained energy.

10. Set Goals and Reward Yourself for Your Progress

Are you missing the incentive programs and bonuses you got to enjoy with traditional employment?

You don’t have to miss out on any of those things just because you work on your own. Now that you’re organized (#5), it shouldn’t be that difficult to throw together a list of goals. Try to create weekly, yearly, and long-term goals for yourself. Keep yourself accountable by scheduling 5 minutes to review and assign new goals each week.

As you complete each milestone, don’t forget to reward yourself. Sure, you may not have the monetary incentive, but as your productivity soars, so will your income. Reward yourself with that trip you’ve been putting off for some months already. Get the new pair of shoes you’re dying to have or just take an enjoyable dinner at the new restaurant downtown.

You work hard to make it as a freelancer. Matching your passion for work with your hobbies can make your job a lot more enjoyable- and productive.

What are your productivity musts? Have you successfully put any of these into practice?

6 Types Of People You Should Keep Away From

People are funny and beautiful and wonderful and great and then not so good. We meet someone for the first time and we think they are awesome and we want to be best friends with them and then a week later find out that may not be such a good idea. We come in all shapes and sizes with many colourful personalities. The happy the sad, the good and the bad. As much as people are, for the most part, good, there are still some people we need to keep away from.

Have you ever noticed that when you hang out with a happy person, you just end up being happy too? The same applies to toxic or negative people. If you hang out with them too long, you pick up their bad habits. Not so much fun. Here are 6 types of people you should definitely stay away from.

Group of young people having fun dancing at party.The Gossiper.

Steer clear. These people have nothing better to do than talk about everyone at work, in the neighbourhood, at the local café, in their family and in their town. They thrive on gossip and can often be found making stuff up just to have something to talk about. chances are, if they are gossiping that much, they’re talking about you when you’re not around. Keep away.

The Pity party goer.

The ones who talk only about all the horrible things that are happening in their life. Their life is one tragic event after another. Nothing ever goes right in their life and a black cloud looms over their head all day every day. They will grab anybody by the arm to tell them of their shit life. That’s pretty much all they talk about. They are time vampires. Run away fast.

The judge.

The judge who judges every single person that crosses their path. In their minds, they are perfect and everyone else is beneath them. They waste no time passing judgement on people and have no qualms about doing it either. Everyone is either stupid, ugly or bad. They pass judgment without even getting to know the person and finding out if there is even any truth in the judgment they are passing. They just really don’t care.

The party animal.

Though this person will be fun to hang with in the beginning, after awhile it gets tiring and very hard on your body to maintain this toxic lifestyle of drinking and partying every weekend not to mention, it will be really hard on your wallet. The party animal wants to party all the time, every weekend, with weekends starting on Wednesday and ending on Sunday. Hang on to your wallet, and your liver, and walk away.

The bully.

They may seem nice at first, they may even be really nice to you and charm you but eventually their true colours show and you see this person is nothing but a bully and a wee bit of a control freak. If you can’t put them in their place, which is a good idea anyway, then it’s time to walk away from this jerk. They are hurting deeply on the inside, as most bullies are, and they will only use you to poke their anger at.

The whiner/complainer.

Much like the pity party goer, this person just wants to complain and whine about everything. From the price of gas to the fact that it’s too hot outside. The train is loud, the street is dirty, the kids are noisy, the music is horrible. Nothing makes this person happy and they see bad in everything. no matter how hard you try, they will not see the bright side. Run fast or you’ll end up just like them.

When you see any of these traits come out full force in anyone, it’s time to pack it in and run away. Many people just love to hear their own voices, even if they are saying something kind and loving. There may be a wee bit of hope for them to change, but remember, change comes from them, not you.

7 Powerful Quotes From World Leaders That Will Change The Way You Think

We all have one or two thought leaders who we greatly admire and look up to. I have a few myself and they inspire me to be more, do more and think more. Though we are all quite capable to think for ourselves, it’s sometimes good to have a louder voice in your face saying “you can do it”. it reassures us of our power that we forgot we had and it gives us a much needed kick in the arse.

There are leaders in spirituality, business, entrepreneurship, religion, personal development and a few other categories. Some are still alive and some are dead, their words of wisdom living on. Here is a small compilation of some of my favourite quotes that have gotten me through some questionable periods in my life and give me that much needed kick in the arse. In no particular order, ….

Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve. ~Napoleon Hill.

If you can think it, you can do it. The thought has already manifested in your mind. You have seen it, felt it and dreamed of it. If it’s in there, you can bring it to life. The only thing stopping it from coming to fruition is our limiting belief that we can’t do it. You can.

Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being. ~Kevin Kruse.

In this materialistic and consumer filled world, it’s easy to get caught up in the me me me mentality. Fact of the matter is, the more you give, from the heart, the more you will receive. In years to come, what do you really get from all the stuff you’ve collected? Nothing much really. A house full of stuff and an empty heart and wallet.

The mind is everything. What you think, you become. ~Buddha.

Careful what you think of yourself because if you keep telling yourself you are a failure, you will be a failure. If you think you will be lonely for the rest of your life, you will be. Think optimistic thoughts, success thoughts, happy and loving thoughts and watch your life transform.

I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. ~Maya Angelou.

Make people feel good. All ways. Everyone needs to feel encouraged, loved, supported and special. If you treat people horribly, they will remember you for that, if you treat them with respect and love, they will remember that too. Be nice, really.

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. ~Les Brown.

Our fears have complete control over our lives until we decide to face them and flick them away. We put our dreams on the backburner or on the top shelf and take it out to look at it every now and then and put it back away because our fears tell us we can’t or we aren’t good enough. send your fear packing and go live your dreams

Build your own dreams or someone else will hire you to build theirs. ~Farrah Gray.

This one was a powerful one for me. Why should I spend my time and effort helping someone else achieve their dreams? What about mine? I have dreams too! Take action, make changes, have faith in yourself and start building your dreams, not someone else’s. If they can do it, so can you.

Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck. ~ Dalai Lama.

Another great one. We want things and get terribly upset when we don’t get them. After the fact, sometimes months or even years after the fact, we see that it was a wonderful twist of fate that we didn’t get it at the time. We don’t see it at the time but learn to appreciate when you don’t get something that you want, it’s because something better is coming.

These simple yet powerful quotes have kept me focused and determined to live a life of true happiness and abundance. Maybe some of these might be of great value to you. What are some of your favourite quotes? Share them with the others.

How to Discover Your Hidden Talents: 5 Proven Methods You Should Try Today

To some of us, talent is a fiction, a supposed reality that has no existence in our current lives. Knowing your natural abilities and capabilities is more of a privilege, a rare blessing that comes with all sorts of satisfactions and happiness. If you have not yet discovered your talent, worry less. I have got your back. Here are 5 proven methods to get you started. Remember age is not a limiting factor. It’s an awakening call!

talent1) It all starts with this important thing

And it’s about having an open mindset.Our mindset determines our logical and proportional thinking. This will, in turn, affect our judgment about life.A mindset constrained by fear and unwillingness is the worst you can have to embrace change and individuality. Opening your mind to the many possibilities is the best way to evaluate your probable talent. Talents exist in many parameters of life, from class work, artistic designs, athletics, and events to the other complex areas of life. Be open about your skills and let your close friend s positive advice influence you. Be ready to embrace change by working out all the skills you have until you realize that one that suits you the best.Also, discovering your passions and talents is a matter of opportunity. An effort must be made to satisfy the curious part of your mind. A positive mentality will drive your passions even after a terrific fail, this will determine your success later on. If you have not yet tried skating and fall severely, or tried writing that fictional story, you are probably far from what it takes to find your nature talents.

2) A proven method for “mining” hidden talents?

Try something new. That’s it. Apart from building your existing skills, try learning something new.Sometimes we deceive ourselves and set non-factual limits in our own lives. Sometimes we believe to be the best of the best in some of the things we do but only too late to realize that we were wrong.This hurts a lot and many may lose hope.But this should not be the case. Flexibility in life is a key factor and requires us to try all the possible options provided we are in peace with our immediate environment. Allow life to give you a surprise and this is the best way to live.

We encounter risk in every day to day life and what is more important is taking a risk that is vital and worth our precious life.Owning the art of rightful and mindful prioritization is all you need to push you through the new exercise. Some of the things we have been shying away from are the very things we are good at.Life can shock you if you are not prepared to counter the effect. Learn to build confidence in every stage of life, take reasonable risks and learn more.

3) Do this one thing well and you too can see a breakthrough

It’s about focusing on what you can do best.Some of the things we like doing do not necessarily guarantee us success. You might be addicted to playing baseball but find less progress even after that many efforts.Learning basic skills can even be a headache and this doesn’t mean you are falling for the wrong things in life, but an indication that you rather change your taste.Your talent could be more than just the ordinary singing, swimming, and dancing but a unique yet scary one. Once you get that one you can do better than the rest, pick and work on perfecting it. Others may have more than one talent while others are struggling to identify one! Asking for help and advice should be given a priority; at least everyone should have a talent. When more than one possibility exists, you should focus on the one you find more enjoyable to do as compared to the rest.

4) If you want to find your true talents, don’t ignore this

Reflecting on your past.A simple yet very effective way to find your “forgotten” natural gifts.This will give you the sense to appreciate the previous you; the success, weakness, and unsolved challenges. The interests you once had while you were a young kid could have a great influence on your current and future self. Take a test and try to identify your childhood interests, the things you enjoyed and loved the most.Reflect the same on your previous success and failures. And try to make a final list by ruling out the irrelevant and non-matching interests that you might have developed due to influence and such kind of scenarios. After having that positive reflection of your entire life, get a close friend to give you a hint on the same. Here you will get to hear some of the things he/ she thinks you are good at and compare with the things you had listed down.You will learn your weakness, try to perfect them and concentrate more on that interest you had since your childhood. Polishing on some of your past mistakes is the best you can do for a brighter future. This should not limit your ability. It should strengthen and give you the sense to achieve more.

5) And no matter what you have on your hands, you will fail without this

Work hard, my friend! Hard work is the other name for success. And yes, hard work can beat talent if talent fails to work hard. Talents can come naturally or through persistent practice but to keep it rocking, good amount of effort is essential.Practice will never be complete without knowing your weakness and this will differentiate the quality of output from quantity. Working smart has hard work in it balanced with proper timing and persistence in achieving the goals of life.Success comes shortly after challenges and failure by itself a justification for the lack of hard work and persistence in life. You need to take various challenges and proceed to the next level after a struggle to realize what you really belong to.Working on your weakness is not as easy. That’s why a self-rewarding system should be set to push you through the trials in life and propagates you towards achieving the talent in your dreams.

Conclusion

Finding your true talents in life is and will never be an easy task. However, don’t let the obstacles deter you from even starting your journey. It might be a life long journey to some. And there will be hard work. But I assure you that it will be a very exciting journey!
