5 Steps That Will Increase The Power Of The LoA

Are you about sick and tired of hearing about the Law of Attraction because it just didn’t work for you? Everything any book or guru said, you tried and it was malarkey. So many rules, so many different ways. What’s the problem? Or maybe it’s sort of working for you but there are a few hiccups along the way. The LoA brought you the car you desired but it was a mini hot wheels you found on the sidewalk. There definitely are a few tips and tricks that cannot be overlooked when working wit h this Law. The following steps will help to increase the power of the LoA if you follow them properly.

They say to see it, believe it and receive it. Those are the three most important rules. But what other things should we be doing to really kick the LoA into high gear? We wanted the car but not the mini version, we wanted the partner of our dreams but they weren’t supposed to be already married. So what do we have to do

LoA1. Raise the roof.

No limits. We think about something but we put a limit on it. Yes, I want a car but maybe not a new one, a used one is ok and it doesn’t matter what color or shape it’s in. I really just want a car. Why all the limitations? You want a car. You want a smokin’ hot brand new car maybe. Be clear. Don’t be shy in asking what you really truly want. Put it out there and don’t feel like you deserve something less or that you are asking for too much. You aren’t. you are deserving of a brand new car if that’s what you want. No limits.

2. No room for negative talk.

Ever. All negative talk must be removed from your vocabulary immediately. This will be hard if you’re not used to this new way of communicating, but it’s necessary, mandatory. You must only speak positive, happy, abundant and loving words. All the time. Yes, some people actually can do this and so can you. Remove words and phrases like I can’t or it’s not for me or that’s too expensive or I’ll never be able to afford that. Abundance and prosperity is your birthright. Don’t forget that.

3. Be aware of your surroundings.

Be mindful and present. Try to see every situation in a positive light. If you walk past a store that sells something you want or love, talk about it like you already own something just like that. Show tremendous appreciation for everything you have in your life and really be aware of its value and its presence in your life. Everything. Be connected with the energy of love and gratitude to all that you have in your life, and even life.

4. Feel good always.

Sounds almost impossible but really it’s not. If you are thinking and talking positive all the time and you are in a constant state of gratitude for your life and all that is in it, then feeling good should come naturally, right? If it doesn’t, then something is off. Check to make sure you are in a good vibration with the Universe and love. What are you doing, where are you, who are you with? Take note of all these things when your emotions start taking a nose dive and then adjust accordingly.

5. Share it with others.

Spread the word. Talk about the Law of Attraction to others. Your family, friends, coworkers, neighbours, everybody. The more you share it and talk to others about it, the more you stay in the vibration and the more powerful that energy will be. You are not only attracting more of the good stuff to you but you are sharing which is a powerful LoA tool. Keep talking about it. The more you talk about it and feel it, the mo re you believe it and the faster all the things you want will manifest.

Yes, it’s about feeling it and believing it but not just when you’re in the mood or you need to attract something. You should stay in that vibration all the time. Live it daily.

10 Ways To Make Life Simpler

We all strive for a much simpler life. For most of us, our goal is to work less, enjoy life more, stress less and just chill. Unfortunately for too many of us, that’s all a pipe dream. We work long hours and too hard at jobs we don’t like or don’t bring us satisfaction, barely pay the bills and at the end of the day, week and month, we’re stressed and broke. We all really just want a simpler life but how?

Most of us create problems in our minds that aren’t even there. They don’t exist at all. We made them up. Sounds silly but it’s so true. We worry for nothing. Cutting that out will certainly aid in making life simpler. Here are 10 other ways to do that.

nine_simple_ways_to_do_less_and_be_more1. Smile more.

Turn your frown upside down. As soon as you do this, immediately your mood will lift and whatever it is that is causing you frustration or sadness at the moment will dissipate and you will be happier and a little more lighthearted. Really. Try it.

2. Stop buying stuff.

We own so much stuff that we don’t need. So much stuff. You have 25 belts, surely you don’t need another one. And another watch? Come on. Stop collecting junk. That s all it ends up being in a year from now.

3. Turn the TV off.

We watch the news, we get depressed. Quick fix, stop watching the news. Get out and go for a walk, sit on the porch and look at the stars, read a good book. take up painting or woodworking or something. Do something other than watch TV.

4. Unplug.

Phones, iPad, computers and all other electronic gadgets, turn them off. Maybe even for an hour a day. For that hour, go relax, meditate, sit with a friend and chat. There are so many other things you can do that will calm your mind and allow you to chill out and enjoy life.

5. Don’t fret.

Easier said than done. I know. But next time you find yourself worrying about something that hasn’t even happened yet stop yourself immediately and go back to #1. Remember we are in control of our mind and our thoughts. Tell your mind to stop thinking ridiculous things, like things that don’t exist that cause us to worry for nothing.

6. Go have ice cream.

Or another delectable treat. How often do you treat yourself to little things? little things you used to before an internet site told you it was bad for you. Just go have ice cream or whatever little treat you want to indulge in. It’s ok to have treats every now and then. Know your limit, that’s all.

7. Say no more often.

Don’t be afraid to say no more often. We say yes to too many things and at the end of the day we get mad at ourselves for saying yes when we should have said no. Just say no. It’s ok. Whoever you said no to will still love you. They’ll also have more respect for you too.

8. Say yes more often.

Yes to yourself. Yes to treating yourself to an hour or a day to yourself. Yes to happier more fun things to do. Yes to random road trips and walks at the lake. Don’t be afraid to go out and do things that you love to do, not what every body else loves to do.

9. Have naps.

Naps are great. Have more of those. Even lying down for 15 minutes, if that’s all the time you have, is a great little quick fix if your body is telling you it’s time to decompress. Listen closely.  Your body or your mind, will surely tell you when it’s time to go lay down. Do it. Don’t fight it. Go lay down.

10. Sit and do nothing.

Really, if only for an hour. Listen to music, stare out the window, close your eyes and zone out. Just do nothing. Just be. Let your thought s come and go. Enjoy the moment, enjoy being you.

Life doesn’t always have to be go go go and full of stress. Take time to enjoy and decompress. You’ll be happier.

11 Ingredients for Greatness

If you’ve had a difficult and challenging life, you’re in good company. The most successful people in every area, from sports and music to business and politics, have gone down the same road you have. There is no point lamenting how hard your life has been. If you can see a rocky path as the foundation to a solid future, you’re on your way to greatness.

It isn’t easy to accept a rocky life when everyone around you has had it a lot smoother than you have. When others seem to have their act together, your erratic life feels wild, out of place and depressing. I know the feeling all too well. I quit a great career in the legal field. I went through a gut-wrenching divorce. I lost a house. I closed a business.

Life hasn’t been a smooth ride by any means, yet I’m more optimistic than ever. I’m glad so much failure, disappointment and pain washed into my life. I don’t feel that it has crushed me; in fact, it has prepared me for my greatest days ahead.

achieve_greatnessYour failures are your stepping stones, no matter how difficult life may be now. How many of these hardships have you gone through in your life? The more hardships you’ve experienced, the more fuel for your journey to greatness. Here are 11 ingredients for living a life of greatness.

1) You fail often.

You’ve continued to fail personally, professionally and even emotionally. You’ve done things the wrong way. You went against your intuition and your heart. You started the project incorrectly. You didn’t put enough effort into the last venture. You partnered with the wrong people. Maybe you went to the wrong school, or entered the wrong profession or wrong trade. You ask yourself why you’re such a failure when yet another thing goes wrong.

2) You take risks others don’t.

When others see fears, dangers or uncertainty, you go forward. You started that business. You went for the promotion. You asked her out. It’s not that you’ll always win, but you’ll keep trying. You’re willing to take the risk even when you fail because you know the only failure is not trying. Instead of playing it safe and staying stuck in your comfort zone, you do what others don’t.

3) You’ve felt deep pain.

You’ve likely had deep emotional pain growing up. Maybe your family life wasn’t stable, maybe your parents were particularly strict or maybe you found yourself in trouble a lot. You could have moved and had to start over in many different cities. You could have had a difficult relationship with your grandparents, siblings or even parents. An ex could have broken your heart so badly that you were stuck in heartbreak for years. You know what it’s like to feel a heavy and deep pain that lingers. You move forward and live your life, even with a heavy heart.

4) Your life isn’t a straight path.

You’ve lived in multiple places, had multiple professions, gone through many jobs and continued to have changes in your life. Some of the changes were of your choosing, but many of them you had no control over. Often, you felt like a feather blown in the wind. You’ve had to adapt, make changes, learn new places and meet new people. You’ve had to let go and start over when it felt like you had just started over. You desire a deep a sense of calmness and continuity, but life has been one adventure after another.

5) Your life has been a struggle.

It wasn’t a straight line and it wasn’t easy. You’ve faced hardships, challenges, failures and life circumstances that you could do nothing about. You were born to the wrong family or grew up in the wrong part of town. You faced struggles with finances, struggles with relationships or struggles with knowing what to do with your life. Every time you tried to get ahead something seemed to pull you back. Your beliefs or thoughts always sabotaged you every time you were on the verge of doing something greater.

6) People don’t believe in you.

Even the people who are supposed to love you or who are your friends doubt you and don’t support you when you go after your dreams or pursue your passion. They don’t want you to fail or suffer and would rather discourage you so that you won’t go forward. They can dream with your or be bystanders – it seems like they want to crush the dreams you’ve envisioned. They doubt that you have the ability or skills to do what you desire.

7) Others have criticized, ostracized and laughed at you.

With every failure, misstep and disappointment, the people around you seem to push you down further instead of giving you a hand up. Growing up, you might have heard that you’re not worthy or not enough. You may not have been in the “in group” or the popular crowd. You seem to be marching to your own beat and others not only stay away from you but make fun of your path.

8) People have broken your trust.

When you thought that someone would always stick with you and be there for you during the ups and downs, you find out that the person you trusted has jumped ship. Or maybe it was a romantic or life partner who betrayed your trust and ended a relationship. Or maybe it was a business partner who was looking out for themselves and who tried to throw you under the bus. The people closest to you have hurt you.

9) You want to give up every day.

As you pursue your dreams or cultivate your passion, you don’t think it’s worth it. You want to give up because the personal toll feels too much. Not succeeding is no fun. The struggle is no fun. The long hours are no fun. Burning the midnight oil is no fun. ‘Wouldn’t it be easier,’ you think, ‘to take the traditional path and do what everyone else is doing? Doesn’t a regular job seem more enticing? A regular life seem more comforting?’

10) The fear is breathing down your neck.

You’re always thinking about what can go wrong. You’re worried about your finances and about losing it all. You feel the fears, see the fears and go forward anyway, even when you’re on the cusp of losing it all. You take risks that others would run away from. You take a loan you don’t know if you can pay back. You’re not sure you can meet your expenses for the month. Your life feels like a roller coaster ride and you hope that you have your seat belt on.

11) You start over no matter what.

Finally, even with all the failures, risks and struggles, you’re willing to start over in life. You’re willing to lose it all so that you can start over. You know that when you have a clean slate, you can start again. You can pursue your dreams. You can go after what’s in your heart. When you’ve failed, you feel that you have permission and a renewed sense of enthusiasm to go after what you want.

What other struggles and challenges have you lived with on your journey to success? Feel free to share in the comments below.

3 Unconventional Ways Of Thinking That’ll Help You Change Yourself

People become accustomed to ideas when exposed to them often enough. And while this isn’t always a bad thing, it can sometimes lead you to believe things that aren’t truly beneficial to you.

To lessen the risk of being gullible enough to believe anything you’re told, it’s important to keep an inquisitive mind and question the way you look at things. There are even various things you believe about yourself that probably aren’t true. By changing the way you think, you might be able to learn more about yourself, which could lead to a better life for you in general.

1. Cultivating Better Habits Won’t Necessarily Help You Reach Your Goals

This way of thinking seems so logical. People are slaves to their habits, so if you change your habits you’ll be doing good things without even thinking about it, right?

You’ll actually be the slave of doing a whole bunch of brilliant things. That idea seems irresistibly enticing.

But here’s the problem – it doesn’t always work like that.

There are two main parts of your brain that control your decision making: the pre-frontal cortex and the limbic system.

The Limbic System

The limbic system is all about auto-pilot and not so much about active long-term decision making. It’s the part of your brain that causes you to sleep when you’re tired, eat when you’re hungry and do whatever you do without really thinking about it. In short, it controls your mindless actions, also known as habits. These habits aren’t necessarily based on anything useful. They just seem rewarding in the short-term.

That’s why you might have a hard time getting work done instead of watching television sometimes. The part of your brain based on short-term rewards is telling you that rest feels good and work doesn’t. Procrastination lives and thrives in your limbic system because it’s only focused on short-term rewards.

When you try to build good habits without really thinking about it, this part of your brain is almost sure to take over and spoil all your best efforts.

The Pre-Frontal Cortex

The pre-frontal cortex is more engaging. This part of your brain helps you in thinking critically. In a sense, you’re human because you have a fully engaged pre-frontal cortex that allows you to think about long-term consequences in a way animals don’t. You analyse situations and predict the possible outcomes based on your actions. This allows you to make choices that are geared towards helping you obtain the most desired results.

Choices you make by thinking critically aren’t always rewarding in the short-term. They often require you to give up some fun for the sake of getting what you want in the future.

But here’s the deal, your pre-frontal cortex can help you change your habits, not by going into auto-pilot and mindlessly trying to change them over time, but by being engaged. Instead of simply trying to build good habits, take some time to question your bad ones. Once you start to think deeper thoughts about how you spend your days, there’s a good chance you’ll change some things.

Be mindful about those bad habits and they might just become so undesirable, you force yourself to do better. It’s a matter of curiosity. Once you start actively questioning your habits, you might become more aware of how bad the bad ones really are.

So in a sense, engaged thinking can help you change your actions rather than cruising along hoping to build a healthier lifestyle without giving it much thought.

2. Your Personality Isn’t Determined By Left Brain/Right Brain Dominance

brain and personality

There’s a really popular idea that your cerebral dominance – the side of your brain you apparently use the most – has an influence on your personality. The idea is that people who are factual, analytical and more practically orientated use their left brain more and people who are creative, holistic and more mindful of feelings rather than facts are right brain dominant.

But here’s the problem: that’s just not true. And if you really think about it, why would it even be true?

You use your whole brain, not just one side. You don’t even really have a dominant cerebral hemisphere. The link between your personality and your brain is difficult to pinpoint, but it certainly has nothing to do with the two sides of your brain.

Choosing Your personality Instead

Look at the bright side, though, maybe you have more control over your thinking style and personality than the left brain/right brain theory would’ve had had you believe.

I certainly believe that there’s a big element of choice when it comes to personality, virtues and the way we see things. If you consciously decide to change the way you look at things, you’ll eventually change entirely as a person. It won’t happen over night, but you can change yourself.

Humans are creatures of habit, and you might not realise that you develop these habits even in your thinking patterns. So maybe creative, artistically inclined people are only that way because they had a bad math teacher who led them to believe that they aren’t good at numbers and facts. Their response might have been to focus on more artistic pursuits. Cultivating this way of thinking over a long period of time possibly became so ingrained in the essence of their thinking, they no longer know how to be any other way.

Same goes for people who would be classified as left brained. Maybe they just live according to a stereotype because they happened to be good at science and bad at drawing. But maybe they never gave drawing the chance it deserved and dismissed it as something for right brained people.

3. Learning Something New Can Make You Happier

learning new things

Now that we debunked the myth that your dominant cerebral hemisphere has an influence on your personality – because you don’t truly have a dominant cerebral hemisphere – it’s time to focus on pushing boundaries and learning new things.

Learning new things can actually make you happier. It provides you with something to keep life interesting and escape from the everyday hum-drum of your ordinary job. Chances are, you do most of your job easily without really thinking about it.

But when you feed your mind with new ideas, there are new idea for you to explore and consciously think about. By thinking about new things, sometimes even things you never thought you’d think about, you’re creating an opportunity for creativity to grow. This creativity allow for space in your mind that’s dedicated to actively think about world views, art, culture, science, sports or whatever else you’re learning about.

See Also: How to Learn Anything Online for Free

And fostering creativity is one of the best things you can do for yourself because creativity is one of the most important characteristics of good problem solvers. It helps you to think outside the box and come up with new ways of solving old problems. It also focuses your mind on itself, helping you to think more intrinsically and teaches you to seek gratification from within yourself instead of trying to obtain it from the things around you. This allows you to be less inclined to feel bothered by what others think of you and helps you take a proactive approach to dealing with the issues in your life. Instead on focusing solely on the extrinsic problems you’re facing, you internalise them in a way that almost has you playing with the idea of solutions.

This all comes back to the difference between doing things on auto-pilot and actually thinking critically. When you decide to become a life-long learner, you’re making an active decision to think about new things all the time. This feeds your pre-frontal cortex which allows you to live life in a proactive way, as opposed to just cruising by on auto-pilot.

When you create a life of thinking consciously, you are better able to shape your life and thoughts to become a happier person.

10 Things You Should Never Say To Someone Who Is Trying

We’ve all been there. Either you or I have been in a really shitty place, realized it was crap and took the time and all the necessary steps to change. We know what we did was either wrong or just ridiculously stupid. We all make mistakes. Some of us stay in that place while the rest of others desperately try to figure out what we did, why we did it, recover and grow from it. While we’re trying to make our lives better there are certain things you should never say to us. I mean, we are trying.

Naturally, there is always a handful of naysayers. The loud mouths who don’t want you to succeed or change or grow. They like you just the way you are and don’t want you to improve. These are the people who are also afraid of your growth. They realize it may be a new beginning for you but the end for them. If you are one of these people or know someone like this, send them this article and tell them that while you are learning, changing and growing, these are the things they should not be saying to you.

things_not_to_say_trying1. Remember your Uncle Gerry tried that and it backfired on him.

Look at him now. Chances are I don’t really care about Uncle Gerry’s demise. I am not Uncle Gerry. I am me and I am confident in my growth.

2. You better be careful, you know it’s not just you who will pay the price if this goes wrong.

If this goes wrong? First of all, nothing is going to go wrong and secondly of course it’s just me who will pay whatever imaginary price you are talking about. This is my life. I am responsible for me, no one else.

3. Why would you want to do that?

Why would I not want to do that? I’m trying to change my life. Change is good. Hasn’t anyone told you that? We can’t stay the same forever. There comes a time where you will have to be open to learn and grow. A little encouragement goes a long way here.

4. Didn’t you already try that once and it failed?

Maybe I did and maybe it did fail. So what? I’ll keep trying until I get it right. When was the last time you tried to improve your life? Stop bringing up my failures.

5. Oh, you’re doing that again are you?

Yes, yes I am. So what of it? I see that me trying to better myself and improve my life annoys you. Is it fear or jealousy? The sooner we figure out what it is the sooner you can work on improving that.

6. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll still be here for you.

Why would it not work out? Why wouldn’t you be here for me if it does work out? Do you think I’m going to fail at improving my life? Thanx for the vote of confidence.

7. Oh well we all know how this is going to end.

We do? How? Do you know a secret that I don’t? Are you referring to my past just now? Why would you do that? We’re moving past the past and into the future. You should stop bringing up yesterday please.

8. Why can’t you just let things be?

Let them be as shitty as they are now you mean? You mean leave things just as they are and stay the same forever like the rest of you guys? Why would I want to do that? That sounds like a horrible idea.

9. Your life if just fine the way it is.

Really? Is it? It hasn’t changed in months, years even and it’s filled with misery and sadness. I’m stuck in a horrible job and stagnating. Why would you say my life is fine? It’s not fine. There’s nothing fine about it. You just don’t want me to change.

10. Well, good luck with that.

How am I supposed to take that? You don’t sound remotely sincere. As a matter of fact, you sound very sarcastic when you say that. Are you imp lying I am going to need all the luck I can get with trying to improve my life? Ok, well thank you.

People who are trying to improve their life really just want a few words of encouragement. That’s it, that’s all. Be happy for them and show them you care and you believe in them. That’s not so hard to do, is it?

5 Smart Tricks To Avoid Uncomfortable Situations

No life is complete without periodic doses of extremely uncomfortable situations or moments. A part of a successful societal identity is about handling these situations better.

It’s not usually taught in classrooms or found in text books. It takes years of exposure to these situations, keen observations, quick unlearning and quicker learning and a dash of self-esteem to conquer these could-have-been awful moments.

As the wise men say, it’s finally the outcome and not the sweat that goes in, that matters. Mastering the skills of coping with awkward instants is not a part of a standard B-school management course, but come very handy in business too. The idea is not to let down people or lose friends who could have been of use in future.

The tricks I lay out here aren’t dumb excuses like “stuck in a traffic jam” or “father critically ill” – those are mostly counterproductive nowadays. Let’s jump straight, without much ado.

Uncomfortable Situation #1: Teleconferencing

You’re on a teleconference with multiple parties. There is a bizarre situation and bosses or clients are suddenly firing at you. It was not anticipated well in advance and you need a minute or so to compose yourself and think through some vague answer. But you don’t have the all-precious minute in hand; so much is the heat in the air.

OK, take your time. Start your defense with “Oops! I was on mute”.

Uncomfortable Situation #2: Undesirable encounters

Someone really unpleasant and unimportant is approaching you at a breakneck speed possibly to ask for some help. Pick up your mobile and answer a non-existent call while you stride away of the hell. People are expected to be unmindful during an important phone call; more so if you keep your eyebrows strained. So you’re pardoned for unnoticing the ‘friend’. It doesn’t really matter whether the call landed on you or you made because you look reasonably absorbed.

See Also: Feel Less Awkward With This Simple Technique

Uncomfortable Situation #3: Unwanted party invite

If you’re invited to a party where you have no reason to be, remember that you’re not expected there, it’s just a formality to invite you. You’ve to accept the invitation with all your humility and assure of your gracious presence. Don’t be there at the do. Pay your friend a smile when you cross each other’s path later on. Both of you have moved on without a hard feeling.

Uncomfortable Situation #4: Getting bullied

A group of friends take part in bullying you for something that happened in past. You can’t overwrite the history. Don’t try to explain or justify. Excuses will worsen the game and fuel them further.

Start laughing aloud at every dig they take, louder than the loudest in the gang and add new angles to make fun of yourself mercilessly. Make even the shrewdest blush. They’ll see no value in continuing on that track and probably find a new victim or subject for killing the remaining time.

Uncomfortable Situation #5: Caught red-handed

You’re caught red handed in a situation that you tried your best to avoid. It could be any of those obnoxious, generic events when you feel death would have been sweeter.

Make a sad face, all you can attempt is a craft known as ‘context switch’. There are always serious things in the world that concern most of the human race including those whom you want to run away from right now. Pose aloof from the current state of affairs and be occupied into something little more global and grave. Then soak others into it.

That’s it! You’ve broken their original rhythm. They’re bound to get carried away into the sea of a momentous discussion.

Try to remember these smart tips for getting out of awkward moments whenever you get into a tight situation. Good luck!

6 Things You Should Be Telling Yourself Daily

We all need a bit of self prescribed motivation every now and then. Our house may be plastered in welcoming phrases and inspiring pictures, but unless we are telling it to ourselves convincingly, we may never get the picture. Inspirational slogans and imagery can only do so much for us, because unless we are driving it through ourselves without outside influence it will just become white noise and will have no impact on us. The sources you get inspiration from must be absorbed, tracked and followed upon; we need to do our homework and keep practicing, like a yoga or math student. Here are a couple of things you should be saying to yourself everyday – simple, practical, and effectual. It only takes a few seconds.

things_to_tell_yourself1. Today is going to be great!

Whenever your day starts, whether it’s when you get out of bed, get your first coffee, or get to work, you should remind yourself that today is going to be a great day; and trust me, there will be a lot thrown at you to refute it. It could be a cloudy day, there could be bad traffic, you’ve spilled some food, you forgot something at home… any factor could be occurring to pull you down. But as soon as your day is in motion, you should be ready to conquer it. Remember the bright side of everything. If your day started on a bad foot, it can only get better! It’s all about perspective. If you tell yourself you are going to have a good day, you are charging your mind with powerful positive energy and as long as you believe it, you can do it.

2. I am the strongest today that I have ever been.

To some, each passing day means getting a day older, and no one likes getting older. But, I like getting older. Why? Because everyday we reach our new oldest point in life, we have new experiences to learn from. Everyday teach es us something. As humans, we are constantly making mistakes and learning from them, improving ourselves and the quality of life we have. On every new day that we live and is coming to us, we are at a point where we have learned the most and can adapt our feelings, decisions and moral judgements to shape us into the best we can be. Be able to turn your bad decisions into a learning experience and create the best you. Invite age and change, and the more positively you accept it the stronger you will keep becoming.

3. I look great!

You don’t have to be the most beautiful, the strongest looking , the sexiest, the tallest – whatever you think the idea of beauty is. What really matters is how you carry what you have. The way you do your makeup, the way you fit into your clothes, your posture and attitude. If you can have power over the way you appear, anyone can be as beautiful and powerful as you want.

4. I am going to learn something new today.

Maybe you’ve been at the same 9 to 5 job for a long time and things have gotten stale. That doesn’t mean there’s not room for growth and discovery. Challenge yourself to learn something new everyday, in places where you’d least expect. Learn something new about the restaurants in the food court, or about someone you know – or don’t know! See it as a riddle, and if you spend all day trying to learn something new and conquer this riddle, the day will fly by and you will have a bit of fun with it.

5. I am going to overcome something today.

Now that you’ve learned something new, challenge yourself again to put yourself into a moral or mental situation for you to overcome. Rethink how you work at your job and find new ways to overcome simple tasks. Discover new solutions and gameplans for otherwise regular jobs. You could unlock new habits within yourself that improve your productivity.

6. I am going to thank someone today.

This goes without saying, because we thank everyone on a daily basis – people who serve us food, give us change, etc. But I want you to really thank someone, to go out of your way to make someone else feel appreciated and special. Thank people for things they are otherwise unthanked for, or point out habits they do that make everyone else at work feel less burdened. They will appreciate your keen eye for ethic, and everyone will feel better and have a better day for it.

Give thanks for a little, and you will find a lot.
