To celebrate @EveryKidinaPark and the public lands where kids can learn and play, we are having a virtual Social Media #ScavengerHunt during the month of April! We will post clues three times a week on the BLM national and state social media channels (find the complete list of channels here).

Join in the fun and play along. Here are the clues that have been posted so far: Alaska, Nevada, and California.

Shenandoah National Park in Virginia has some spectacular views, and we want to share them with you! Join us for a Shenandoah Instameet on Saturday, April 23, as part of our National Park Week celebrations. We’ll meet at the Stonyman Trail parking lot at 4:30 pm ET and take pictures while hiking to the viewpoint. Anyone with a camera or camera phone is welcome. We hope to see you there – and be sure to share your photos with us afterwards using #ShenNPS and #FindYourPark!

Today, President Obama designated a new national monument honoring the struggle for women’s equality – the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument in Washington, D.C. One of the oldest standing houses near the U.S. Capitol, the newest monument permanently protects the the iconic house that served as the headquarters for the National Woman’s Party, which fought to advance women’s rights throughout the 20th century. http://on.doi.gov/1NmuC5m

Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge in Indiana was established in 1966 to provide resting and feeding areas for waterfowl during their annual migrations. More than 280 species of birds have been seen at Muscatatuck, and the refuge is recognized as a “Continentally Important” bird area.
