Marshall Point Starry Night by edwardreese

This a view of the night sky from behind the Marshall Point lighthouse in Maine.

It’s a three shot panorama from left to right, with a blending of exposures to keep the brightness of the head light from blowing out the milky way.

Have to say this is the most challenging type of photography I’ve gotten into so far. Have to be really careful of light sources and noise processing.

Still have a lot to learn.

Here’s another new image – a telephoto view of Mount Whitney, California during a stormy sunrise. Whitney is the tallest peak in the lower 48 states, at 14,505 feet.

Another sleepless night in Haukland beach by AlfredoCostanzo

Haukland beach in Lofoten has been voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Norway, and how can you argue against that vote after witnessing a northern lights here. During visiting of the beach in afternoon , I noticed, that the waves make a small pools in the rocks, and thought , favourite from the moonlight too, it could be a nice foreground for a northern lights shot. I hope you likeeit …

The Forest’s Awakening – 森の覚醒 by EliaLocardi

There’s nothing better than spending a morning all alone in the Sagano Bamboo Forest near Kyoto, listening to the soft rustling sounds of tall stalks and leaves as the sway gently in the breeze. On a clear morning, the light shines brilliantly though the tangle of beautiful green, making the forest seem as though it’s illuminated from within. It’s a truly extraordinary place to be.

Nocturne of Shadow by alexnoriega

Twilight falls on the curvaceous sand dunes of Death Valley, California.

I’ve been wanting to get back here to make images like this since my last (completely unproductive) visit three or four years ago. My month-long trip is nearing its end, and I’ve got many new images coming, but this may end up being my favorite. I’ve had mostly zero skies to speak of on the southwestern leg of my autumn travels, but that’s actually advantageous for images like this. It helps not to be distracted by an explosive sky and tempted to put on a wide-angle lens, when focusing on more intimate telephoto compositions. The light on these dunes is simply magical when the sun is low on the horizon.

If you like the look of my images, you may be interested in knowing I teach my processing workflow and techniques online via Skype! By popular demand, I’m also offering pre-recorded videos on a preliminary basis, since I’m on the road. Though they’re not finished products with proper video production (I plan on beginning to release those this winter), these videos have all the information on my most important techniques, and they come at a discount as opposed to a personalized session on Skype. I also offer private workshops, and I’ve got a bigger tour for 2015 announced already. You can find more information or contact me at my website: http://ift.tt/YdCotQ

Eternity by AtomicZen

Patagonia, Chile

This is one of my favourite shots from Patagonian mountainscape of Chile. Dead trees scattering around this area made me very upset about human mistakes that cause fires in Patagonia park many years ago. Without the fires, once the Patagonia was absolute beautiful.

Palouse Light Show by RHMiller

The Palouse is one of my favorite places… it is just so unique. On this trip, I was treated to a light show as a storm rolls in. This lightning strike was so bright that it left me blinking for several minutes.

Palouse from Steptoe Butte, Washington.
